Pew pew, mind lasers. Come see the new Death Guard Relics and Contagion Discipline that will be in the new codex book coming your way this week!
Over all the new Death Guard have six Relics and Contagion Discipline that will be available in the new Codex: Death Guard.
Let’s get started with the Relics.
Plague Bringer: Model with plague knife, balesword or power sword only.
Plaguebringer replaces the bearer’s plague knife, balesword, or power sword and has the following profile: Range Melee, Type Melee, Strength User, AP -2, Damage D3. Abilities: Plague Weapon (pg 68). Each time you make a wound roll of 6+ with this weapon, the target suffers a mortal wound in addition to any other damage.
Fugaris’ Helm: The wearer of Fugaris’ Helm increases the range of any aura abilities on its datasheet (such as Nurgle’s Gift, Tocsin of Misery etc.) by 3″ ( so the majority of powers will be extending out to 10″)
The Plague Skull of Glothila: This oversized death’s head was once the skull of the Chaos Lord Glothila, whose dying wish was to become a weapon of purest evil. The Plague Skull of Glothila has the following profile:
Relics aren’t the only thing to help you get an edge over your opponent, let’s take a look at the new Contagion Discipline.
1. Miasma of Pestilence: Miasma of Pestilence has a warp charge value of 6. If manifested, select a visible friendly Death Guard unit within 18″ of the psyker. Until the start of your next psychic phase, your opponent must subtract 1 from all hit rolls that target that unit.
3. Plague Wind: Plague Wind has a warp charge value of 5. If manifested, select a visible enemy unit within 18″ of the psyker. Roll 1 dice for each model in that unit, on a 6 the enemy unit suffers a mortal wound.
5. Putrescent Vitality: Putrescent Vitality has a warp charge value of 6. If manifested, select a visible friendly Death Guard Infantry unit within 18″ of the psyker. Until the start of your next Psychic phase, add 1 to that unit’s Strength and Toughness characteristics.
The new Relics and Contagion Discipline coming out of the Death Guard Codex open up a lot of options for Death Guard players. The Death Guard are looking even more deadly with every update we get, and we’re far from done.
