By James Rodriguez | September 14th, 2017 | Categories: Adeptus Mechanicus, News / Rumors, Warhammer 40k

The new Codex: Adeptus Mechanicus will be going up for pre-order this Saturday and Games Workshop is giving us some more teasers to hold us over.

Games Workshop just gave us another preview of Codex: Adeptus Mechanicus. Let see what they had to say about forge world Lucius.

The forge world of Lucius is renowned for Luciun, a unique alloy known for its durability. Naturally, the armies of Lucius are armed with war-plate and weapons made of Luciun, lending them considerable durability against small-arms fire. On the tabletop, this is represented by the forge world dogma The Solar Blessing:

Being able to ignore AP -1 attacks helps your larger units resist armour-piercing firepower, reducing the impact of popular shooting weapons like heavy bolters and autocannons.

Kataphron Breachers are pretty durable, but Toughness 5 is only so much of a defence against massed shooting.

Maintaining their 3+ save means your battle servitors will stay in the fight for much longer, while the unique Lucius stratagem, Legio Teleportarium, is perfect for delivering them into optimal combat range.

Similarly, Kastelan Robots benefit from ignoring low-AP attacks for much the same reasons; as an added bonus, they can combine their firepower with the Kastelan Robots with the Elimination Volley Stratagem!

If you want to field the heavy hitters of the Adeptus Mechanicus without having to worry about massed small arms fire, then Lucius is the forge world for you.

The new teaser is making the Adeptus Mechanicus look very well rounded. Being able to ignore your opponent’s AP -1 attacks with The Solar Blessing is definitely going to keep them alive longer. But, on the offensive end, Elimination Volley is going to be a very useful Stratagem that only costs 2 Command Points letting you add 1 to the hit rolls for both a Kataphron Destroyer and Kastellan Robot unit if they are within 6″ of each other. Legio Teleportarium is another Stratagem that’s going to help you get the edge on your opponent. For 1 Command Point you set a unit up in the Teleportarium Chamber during deployment, and bring it on to the battlefield at the end of any of your Movement phases. Could this be the game changer the Ad Mech have been waiting for?

Make sure you check back in with us tomorrow when they reveal teasers for Agripinaa, dauntless defenders from the Eye of Terror.
