New Codex Death Guard Unit Pics SPOTTED

Death Guard Wal HorWith the Death Guard codex coming out soon we’re starting to see better pics of what’s inside the covers as people are starting to get their hands on it.

Scanner got his hands on the new Codex: Death Guard and sent us some pictures of what in the covers. These are a lot more clear than what we’ve been seeing, so we’re going to be taking a look at them and go over the unit rules we know so far. But, before we get to those there is an impressive centerfold in the new codex that we just couldn’t pass up showing off.

This is truly an impressive look at what the Death Guard have coming their way. This should have every Death Guard fan out their anxiously awaiting all of the new releases that will be trickling out. If it’s anything like the Primaris releases we can expect it to be drawn out over four weeks or more.

Now for the new units and their rules.

Death Guard Codex

The Foetid Bloat-Drone is not changing much, with it’s power dropping from 10 to 8. But it is getting access to two new weapon options, the fleshmower and the heavy blight launcher.

The fleshmower is a plague weapon with Strength +2, AP -2, does 2 Damage, and each time a Foetid Bloat Drone fights it can make 6 additional attacks with this weapon.

Death Guard Codex

Blightlord Terminators are 38 points a model, wargear not included, and there’s five models in a unit. They can be quipped with a Blight Launcher which has a 24″ range, Assault 2, S6, AP -2, D3, Plague Weapon. They also have access to the Plague Spewer, Bale Sword, and Bubonic Axe.

Typhus and Poxwalkers

Typhus’ points and stats didn’t change much, but he did get a great new looking model.

The only difference from the index to the codex is his Manreaper is now master-crafted and does 3 Damage instead of D3.

Death Guard Codex

Foul Blightspawn:

The Foul Blightspawn is a single model unit that costs 77 points, moves 5″, WS/BS 3+, Strength 4, Toughness 5, 3 Attacks, 4 wounds, Leadership 8, 3+ save.

This unit is equipped Plaguesprayer which has a 9″ range, D6 Attacks, 2D6 Strength, AP -3, 3 Damage, and it’s Plague Weapon.

These guys prevent units from attacking first in combat after changing in for ALL enemy units within 7″

Bilogus Putrifier:

The Bilogus Putrifier is a single model unit costing 74 pts. It has Movement 5″, WS/BS 3+, Strength 4, Toughness 5, 4 Wounds, 3 Attacks, Leadership 8, and a 3+ Save.

This unit is quipped with an Injector Pistol, Hyper Blight Grenades, and a Plague Knife. Injector pistol has a 3″ range, Pistol 1, Strength 4, AP -1, it does D6 Damage, 1 Damage against vehicles, and it’s a plague weapon. Hyper Blight Grenade has a 6″ range, Grenade D6, Strength 4, AP 0, 2 Damage, each wound roll of a 6 inflicts a mortal wound in addition to any other damage.

He adds +1 Strenght and +1 Damage to unit’s Blight Grenades

Death Guard Codex

We’re seeing a lot of new Plague Marines in this image. Does this mean we’ll be seeing a multi-part kit coming out like we saw with the Primaris Marines?

Death Guard Codex

Tallyman:

Tallyman is a single model unit that costs 60 points, moves 5″, BS/WS 5, Strength 4, Toughness 5, 4 Wounds, 3 Attacks, Leadership 8, and has a 3+ Save. This model is equipped with a Plasma Pistol, Blight Grenades, and Krak Grenades. Festering Zealot is an ability that allows friendly Death Guard units within 7″ to re-roll failed hit rolls.

Seven Fold Chant lets you roll 2D6 every time you use a Stratagem, on a roll of a 7 you get the full Command Points back. (around 20% of the time)

Plague Surgeon:

The Plague Surgeon is a single model unit. It comes equipped with a Bolt Pistol, Bale Sword, Blight Grenades, and Krak Grenades., and allows you to re-roll 1’s for you disgusting resilient saves for all Death Guard characters within 3″:

Deathshroud Terminators

Deathshroud Terminators are 50 points a model. Each unit consits of 3 models, and each model is equipped with a Plaguespurt Gauntlet (8pts) and a Manreaper (17pts). They are Strength 5, Toughness 5, 2 Wounds, 3 Attacks, the Deathsroud Champion gets 4 Attacks, 2+ Save, and a 4+ Invulnerable Save. You must half dice results when determining how far they advance, but they do have the Teleport Strike ability to help you get them into battle faster.

The Plaguespurt Gauntlet is a plague weapon that automatically hits its target with Strength 3, AP 0, and does D6 Damage. Their Manreaper is Strength +3, -3 AP, does D3 Damage, and it’s a plague weapon.

They must tank all wounds for all DG characters within 3″ (on a 2+)  but also confer +1 attacks to them (except Mortarion)

We are seeing a ton of new units coming out of the Death Guard Codex, and so far we’re not disappointed. The Death Guard are looking even more deadly with every update we get, and we’re far from done.
