By James Rodriguez | December 14th, 2017 | Categories: Dark Angels, Tabletop Gaming News, Warhammer 40k

dark angels walpaperJink, and Inner circle are indeed back. Come see the new abilities and special rules for the Dark Angels codex that will be out later this week.

Scanner is at it again, and this time we’re getting a look at the new abilities pages from the upcoming Dark Angels codex. Let’s take a look.

Dark Angels Abilities

Checkout Scanner’s gallery of new Dark Angels rules over on our Facebook Group Page

If your army is Battle-forged Troops units in Dark Angels Detachments and Dark Angels successor Chapter Detachments will gain the Defenders of Humanity ability. This is going to make it so units with this ability will control the objective marker if they are within range of it, regardless of how many enemy models are within range of the objective marker. Only if an enemy unit has a similar ability will it matter who has more models within range.

Infantry, Biker, and Dreadnought units (excluding Servitor units) in Dark Angels Detachments and Dark Angels successor Chapter Detachments also gain the Grim Resolve ability. If the unit did not move in its prior Movement phase they will be able to re-roll all hit rolls of 1 whenever they shoot (including Overwatch), and they can never lose more than one model as the result of any single failed Morale test.

Dark Angels Abilities

Dark Angels are also getting access to the And They Shall Know No Fear, plus the new Jink, and Inner Circle Abilities.

  • And They Shall Know No Fear is going to allow you to re-roll failed Morale tests for that unit.
  • Jink is going to give the unit a 4+ invulnerable save against shooting attacks until the start of your next Movement phase if they Advanced.
  • Inner Circle is going to give you a nice added benefit for hunting the Fallen. Units with this ability will automatically pass Morale tests, and they’ll get to re-roll failed hit rolls in the Fight phase for attacks made against a Fallen unit.

The Sons of the Lion are definitely getting some nice options for Warlord Traits. But, the biggest question is going to be which one will you use the most. With these new Warlord Traits you’ll have plenty of choices to help make your army even more powerful.
