Hobby tools are a great way to help make the hobby life a lot easier. Today we’re breaking down our picks for the Top 5 tools and why they’re must have items.

Have you been trying to figure out different ways to make hobbying easier, faster, and more organized? If so this is the perfect list for you. Let’s take a look at our top 5 choices for hobby tools that are available without breaking the bank.

5. TDOK Flush Cutter $7.99 (Amazon)

TDOK Snips

The great thing about these cutters is they have an internal spring which means you don’t have to worry about a spring breaking and your cutters becoming fully manual. The grips and flush cutting style make them ideal for your hobbying needs, not to mention they cut like a hot knife through butter. Coming in at $8 there really isn’t much choices out there that will give you this kind of quality for that little.

4. Jentastic’s Drunken Brush Goop! 2 oz $8.99 (Slowfuse Gaming)

Jentastic Drunken Brush Goop

Do you have those great brushes you used to love, but they sat neglected, and you can’t bring yourself to throw them away? Jentastic’s Drunken Brush Goop is one of the best brush cleaners we’ve came across. It honestly seems like there’s no job tough enough to match the power of this brush cleaner, and with a little patience it can bring back even the most neglected of brushes. This stuff works way better than that Master’s brush cleaner that we have all used for years.

3. Citadel Painting Handle $8

The days of cork and sticky tack are numbered since the new hobby handle came around. This amazing design is perfect for giving you a good grip on your models without having to worry about where to hold the mini. It fits comfortably in your hand providing more stability while you’re painting, and it fits bases up to a 40mm. Do yourself a favor, avoid cramps from holding small corks, spend the $8, and pick one of these up for yourself.

2. Citadel Water Pot $8

Now this is a must have for all painters! The Citadel Water Pot beats the old coffee mug (or cup that you stole from your kid) every day of the week. The lid slides on and off making it easier to change the water, harder to spill if you accidentally bump it, and it has different size notches that are designed to hold your brushes. Every hobbyist has had those moment when they left the brush sitting in the cup too long and came back to a curled nightmare. Well not anymore. The Citadel Water Pot is definitely topping our charts, and for $8 at a GW store, it’s hard to pass up.

1. Citadel Mouldline Remover $17.50

Mold Line Remover

The Citadel Mouldline Remover is the most expensive item on the list, but still under $20. This amazing little tool will make you rethink your favorite razor blade when it comes down cleaning up mold lines. The best part is… No more accidental finger slices or cutting too deep into your mini. This tool fits comfortably in your hand and makes it a lot easier to make silky smooth finishes of those annoying mold lines. You’ll end up saving more money in the long run by picking one of these up and saying goodbye to razor blades that go dull too fast.

But what would a top 5 list be without having an honorable mention?

What do you do if you want to hobby on the go? You pick yourself up a Citadel Project Box!

Citadel Project Box $69

The Citadel Project Box is an honorable mention mainly because of the price. At $69 it may seem like a bit much, but you won’t be disappointed after using it a couple time. There’s a pull out tray that holds 49 Citadel paint pots, nine slots to hold your paints brushes or small hobby tools underneath, plenty of big open spots to store the minis you want to work on without having to worry about damaging them, and the lid doubles as a hobby workspace. If you’re a hobbyist on the go this is definitely something that will make life a whole lot easier.

What do you think about these hobby tools? Is there something you saw that you’re planning on picking up? Or is there something you think should’ve made the list but didn’t? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
