The Sons of Sanguinius have a shiny codex, showing their great triumphs in battle. Take a look at the Blood Angel’s Collector’s Edition Codex!
The of the book has a unique set of artwork, with the inside first page having the same artwork as the base codex. The cover artwork displays a great battle versus the Tyranids while the material is a nice laminate that is textured. The lightly textured cover has been seen on other special edition codices, including the foil on the page edges. Also included is a nifty ribbon bookmark.
Sons of the angel-winged Primarch Sanguinius, the Blood Angels are noble and magnificent, a proud Space Marine chapter with ten millennia of history. They are warrior heroes who descend into battle on flaming wings to stand between the Emperor’s servants and the heretical hordes that seek to destroy them. Yet beneath their heroic exterior lies a dark secret known as the Flaw, a gene-curse that has bedevilled them for millennia, ravaging their souls until they fight as much for a suitably heroic end as they do for victory in the Emperor’s name.
Content wise, the collectors edition is the same as the regular codex. There are 77 data sheets in the Blood Angels book, as well as various Stratagems, Relics, various war gear, and lore, all over 144 pages. . This release coincided with the Codex: Dark Angels release, giving some great balances between the two books. For instance, the Relics of Baal are better than the Relics available to the Dark Angels, while the Warlord Traits of the Dark Angels can be considered better.
