March White Dwarf Reveals New Necromunda Rules

Genestealer CultWe got a preview of the March White Dwarf from Games Workshop, and included in it was a look at some new Necromunda rules for the Genestealer Cult Gang.

The Genestealer Cult Gang is on their way to Necromunda, and March’s White Dwarf preview from Game Workshop gave us a closer look at what we can expect to see.

Necromunda fans, in particular, will not want to miss this issue, as it includes gang rules for including the insidious Genestealer Cults in your games. A great excuse to use some of Warhammer 40,000’s most insidious models in your underhive skirmishes. (As if the underhive weren’t dangerous enough with just human gangs to worry about!)

For Genestelear Cults in Necromunda, your Adept will follow the rules for a leader and Acolytes follow all of the rules for Champions. Adepts will be able to lead a group of two other fighters, and the Acolytes will only be able to lead one other fighter.

To play Genestealer Cults in Necromunda your gang must have one Adept, no more than two Acolytes, an additional Acolyte for every full 10 Reputation the gang has, the total number of Neophytes in the gang must be equal to or higher than the total number of fighters in the gang (not including Hangers-on), a fighter can be equipped with a maximum of three weapons (four weapons for Acolytes and weapons with Unwieldy take up two weapon slots.

Necromunda: Gang Wars 2 is already out, and our very own Rob Baer gave us a look at the new book and everything that came out for the Orlocks Gang.

For this review, Rob got his hands on the all-new Orlock Gang kit, Gang War II supplement, Badzone Delta terrain, cards, and dice. He has these releases on his paint bench to give the full breakdown of what your hobby dollars could be going towards.

Necromunda Releases

This wave of Necromunda releases is quite the robust offering from Games Workshop. It is great to see that they are now in a position to bring out new content for Necromunda on a regular basis. This batch centers around House Orlock and the new Gang War 2 supplement which not only contains the backstory and rules for Orlock but the rules for the Badzone Delta-7 terrain kit as well. The dice are of the standard that you expect to see from previous GW dice and roll well. Lastly, the Orlock Gang card pack contains 26 extra cards that are ready to be added to your decks.

Orlock Sprues

The Orlock Gang kit comes with 10 miniatures on two sprues and detailed 25mm bases. This kit is very modular and the assembly instructions reflect that with 5 sets of two different build options. The posing and movement are dynamic and the detail on these miniatures is just fantastic. Since this kit is highly modular, it would be a great idea to mix in some other bits and weapons from your Guardsmen for even more customization options. However, this a complaint to be had with this kit. The numbering on the sprues is chaotic with parts numbers mixed about everywhere.

Orlock Comparison

Here is a comparison between a House Escher model and a freshly assembled House Orlock model. As you can see, the detail on both of these models is just great as is the scaling. The Orlock model assembled quickly and with little to no difficulty.

This is just a preview of the full review that Rob has put together for you. To see more of the Orlock kit, Gang War 2 supplement, and the Badzone Delta-7 terrain, check out his full review video below!
