Think you know which Forge World models sell the most? Today we’re going to be taking a look at the Top 12 bestsellers for Warhammer 40k.
Forge World has some of the best looking minis on the tabletop, and resin always holds more detail than plastic. What miniatures do you think made this list?
Astraeus Super-heavy Tank £220
The Astraeus is a super-heavy tank, similar in form to the smaller Repulsor transport in use by the newly created Primaris Space Marines. It mounts a formidable array of weapons, designed around a pair of immense macro-accelerator cannon. Providing a stable firing platform for these temperamental weapons are banks of enhanced repulsor plates, allowing the inexorable advance of the Astraeus to continue unhindered by hostile terrain or the vain defiance of the foe, while its layered void shields can shrug off even the most devastating weapon strikes. The Astraeus is a symbol of the Imperium’s might, unbowed by the dawning of a bloody new millennium and unbroken by the onslaught of its foes.
An appropriately large and aggressive-looking model, this multi-part resin kit makes 1 Astraeus Super-heavy tank. It features 4 repulsor pods, 2 at the rear and 2 smaller ones at the front, configured to allow the Astraeus maximum manoeuvrability. These are connected to the 2 hull sections – the rear hull is dominated by the enormous twin macro-accelerator cannon, which extends along the entire length of the rear hull, with a detailed ammunition feed featured. Backing this up in terms of weaponry is a turret on the front hull, which can be equipped with twin heavy bolters or twin lascannon, and 2 sponson turrets which feature your choice of las-rippers or plasma eradicators. Included are 2 void shield projectors on their own mounts.
The kit is supplied with a 160mm round base and flying stem. Rules are available as a PDF download.
Mars Pattern Warlord Titan Body £930
The colossal Mars pattern Warlord Titan is among the most ancient and feared of the Imperium’s war machines. Forged on the Red Planet itself, it is worshipped and venerated as the Omnissiah’s will incarnate, and each god-engine is encased in layered armour and powerful void shielding, and armed with weapons that are capable of reducing armies to ash.
The rules for using the Warlord Battle Titan can be found in The Horus Heresy Book Five – Tempest and the Horus Heresy: Mechanicum – Taghmata Army List.
This multi-part resin kit includes components to build the legs and torso of a Mars Pattern Warlord Titan. The model features two ardex-defensor mauler bolt cannon turrets and two twin-linked ardex-defensor lascannon turrets. A numbered certificate for the Warlord Titan is also included with this kit.
Leviathan Dreadnought with Cyclonic Melta Lance and Siege Claw £72
Created in limited numbers in the latter days of the Great Crusade, the Leviathan pattern Siege Dreadnought was developed in secret on Terra, away from the pervasive oculars of the Mechanicum. Its massive frame incorporates hybridised technologies, some dating back into the dim past of humanity. Towering over later Imperial walker patterns, this heavily armoured dreadnought is savagely powerful.
This Leviathan pattern Siege Dreadnought is equipped with a Cyclonic Melta Lance and a Siege Claw with built in melta-gun, a devastating pairing of powerful short ranged and close combat weaponry uniquely developed for the Leviathan.
The Leviathan pattern Siege Dreadnought is a multi-part resin kit. It includes optional torso mounted heavy flamers and volkite calivers, an optional Phosphex discharger and an 80mm round base.
Fire Raptor Gunship £110
The Fire Raptor Gunship is a specialised variant of the Storm Eagle known to have its origins in the Imperium’s dim and distant past. The vehicle is configured to maximise ammunition stowage in order to feed the voracious appetite of its numerous weapons and this is achieved by sacrificing the Storm Eagle’s transport capacity.
The secrets of the Fire Raptors construction were lost sometime after the Horus Heresy but Fire Raptors are now being fielded in increasing numbers across the countless war zones of the 41st Millennium, suggesting that an as-yet unidentified Adeptus Mechanicus Forge World or Adeptus Astartes Chapter Forge has come into possession of a complete STC imprint.
The Fire Raptor Gunship, is a complete resin and plastic kit armed with twin-linked avenger bolt cannon, wing-mounted hellstrike missiles and two ball turrets sporting either quad heavy bolters or twin-linked autocannon.
Carab Culln the Risen £80
Formerly the Lord High Commander of the Red Scorpions Chapter, Carab Culln was believed lost to the Imperium in the campaigns that followed the Indomitus Crusade. Grievously wounded in the slaying of the Great Beast of Sarum, Culln’s remains were returned to the Chapter, bearing only the faintest whisperings of life. Thus in honour he was interred within the armoured shell of a Relic Leviathan Dreadnought, blessed with the technology to allow Culln to serve his brethren in battle once again.
This multi-part resin kit contains the components necessary to assemble Carab Culln the Risen, a Warhammer 40,000 Character Series model. Made up of massive pieces of powerful armour, this is an imposing example of a Relic Leviathan Dreadnought – harsh lines and subtle curves make up the silhouette of this miniature. Designed for total war, Culln is armed with 2 assault cannon on one arm, and a heavy bolter hand surrounded by brutally sharp blades on the other – all topped off with hunter-killer missiles. The model is supplied with an 80mm round base.
Rules for Carab Culln the Risen are available as a pdf download.
Mars Pattern Warhound Titan (Body Only) £290
extremely detailed model of the Mars Pattern Warhound Titan. This model stands approximately 250mm/10.5 inches high depending on how the legs are constructed.
Rules for this model and it’s associated weapons can be found in the Games Workshop Apocalypse rulebook.
WEAPON ARMS NOT INCLUDED – THESE ARE SOLD SEPARATELY.
XV109 Y’Vahra Battlesuit £79
Rushed into deployment after the success of the R’varna battlesuit, the XV109 Y’vahra is a Class 10 battlesuit designed for devastating shock assault. To facilitate this role, the Y’vahra is equipped with a triple barrelled phased-plasma flamer capable of vaporising even hardened ceramite, and a massive EMP discharge cannon designed to incapacitate enemy war engines. The complex vectored thruster array incorporated into the Y’vahra’s impressive armour allows it to traverse the battlefield in long graceful bounds, slamming into the greatest concentration of the enemy and reaping a heavy toll in lives before jetting away.
The Y’vahra battlesuit originates with the same Earth caste engineer as the R’varna, Fio’O Ke’lshan Sho’Aun, infamous for his resistance to the will of the Ethereal Council as much as his genius at weapons design. The Y’vahra represents a disturbing paradigm shift in the tactics of the pragmatic Ke’lshan Sept, in whom long years under near constant attack by alien forces has bred a stubborn pragmatism and siege mentality. The new XV109 is clearly a design intended to carry the fighting to the enemies of the Ke’lshan, perhaps marking a new stage of expansion on the T’au Empire’s neglected eastern border.
Complete multi-part resin and plastic kit.
Storm Eagle £105
A formidable gunship, the Storm Eagle mounts fearsome firepower for a vehicle of its size and is capable of transporting twenty Space Marines directly into the thick of an assault. The exact provenance of the Storm Eagle is unknown, but it bears clear similarities to the Stormravens employed by the Blood Angels and Grey Knights. Certain sources place the principal manufacture of the Storm Eagle upon Tigrus and Anvilus IX, both primary-grade Forge Worlds that suffered catastrophic damage during the Horus Heresy. In recent decades the number of Storm Eagles in active service has begun to increase, especially amongst those Chapters known to have favourable relations with the Adeptus Mechanicus. This has lead some observers to believe that production has been restored at an as yet unknown location.
The Storm Eagle is a complete resin and plastic kit which is packed with incredible design work, including a fully detailed interior. This kit is compatible with our range of chapter-specific Rhino doors which are sold separately. Salamanders rhino doors shown in some images are not included.
Tyranid Malanthrope £55
A complete multi-part resin model measuring approximately 129mm/5 inches high.
T’au Tiger Shark AX-1-0 £165
On Taros, the T’au deployed a new variant of the Tiger Shark. Codified as the AX-1-0, this heavily armed Tiger Shark replaced its drone racks and ion cannon with two heavy rail cannon and a seeker missile array. These massive weapons, usually mounted on the far larger Manta, turn the Tiger Shark into a formidable ground-attack craft, capable of engaging and destroying super-heavy tanks and Titans.
Designed to cut through the air like a knife while deploying the kind of apocalyptic weaponry that no craft of its sleekness and efficiency really has any business wielding, the T’au Tiger Shark AX-1-0 is a complete multi-part resin kit. It features several modelling options – there is a choice of either long-barrelled cyclic ion blasters or burst cannon for the wing-tip drones, and the undercarriage can be modelled open or closed. Struts and landing gear are supplied for the open undercarriage option, and there are recessed areas sculpted into the underside of the miniature – should you wish to use magnets in order to switch between the open or closed undercarriage at your leisure, the space is there.
Besides those options, the kit is covered in details; whilst obviously dominated by the 2 enormous heavy rail cannon (perfect for puncturing Titans), there are also 6 seeker missiles, upper and lower exhaust systems for each of the 2 engines, 2 electronic countermeasure pods and 2 chaff launchers.
This kit comes as 67 resin components. Rules are available in Imperial Armour – Index: Xenos.
Shadow Spectres Aspect Warrior Squad £41
Disguised behind shimmering holo-fields, draped with gossamer-thin robes and wraith-like in appearance, the Shadow Spectres were believed long lost by Aeldari Seers. Armed with prism rifles, each a potent anti-tank weapon, and equipped with jet packs, their mobility allows them to hunt down their chosen targets with the implacable patience of the dead, materialising seemingly from the very air to unleash their overwhelming firepower. This kit contains 5 full resin Aspect Warriors including scenic bases. Models designed by Simon Egan.
Please note that the wire stand shown in two images is not included in this kit. Some careful conversion work will be required to acheive this effect.
Casan Sabius and Sirae Karagon – Regents of the Ordon Rift £60
Casan Sabius is renowned among the Red Scorpions as a formidable strategist and swordsman, and when Lord High Commander Culln fell in combat against the Great Beast of Sarum, it was he who the Chapter rallied around in that dark hour. Sabius took command of the Chapter fleet, enacting a flawless strategy of disengagement from the tendrils of Hive Fleet Kraken whilst coordinating a precision orbital bombardment. In doing so he ensured the survival of the Chapter.
Ancient Sirae Karagon was honoured by Lord High Commander Culln with the sacred charge of the Vexilla Imperialis on Lamarno VII, for defeating and throwing the planet’s Genestealer Cult Patriarch from the peak of its spire-top lair. The Vexilla Imperialis is one of the Red Scorpions’ most precious relics. It is more than just a Chapter Banner; the High Lords of Terra awarded it to the Red Scorpions as a mark of triumph following Commander Culln’s successful pursuit of the Badab campaign.
This is a multi-part resin kit which contains the components needed to assemble Casan Sabius and Sirae Karagon. Part of the Warhammer 40,000 Character Series, this is a spectacular centrepiece for your collection, with both models posed dynamically and indeed heroically. Sirae Caragon carries a splendid Vexilla Imperialis, along with a power sword, and Casan Sabius is armed with the Blade of the Scorpion and a bolt pistol. Each model is supplied with a 32mm round gaming base which, when not in action on the tabletop, slots snugly into the 105mm oval display base – this features a rocky diorama.
Rules for Regents of the Ordon Rift are available as a pdf download.
