With several codex books yet to appear for Warhammer 40k, 2018 looks to be chock full of hobby releases from Games Workshop still. Check out the latest on releases that are rumored to be coming in 2018.
Games Workshop has already told us a lot of what’s coming throughout the rest of the year, so we went back and compiled all the new release information, and rumors into one post.
The following is a compilation of what we know is on the way so far, and when we think we can expect to see it based off official announcements and rumors. From the looks of it, May will be a very busy month release wise for Warhammer 40k.
++ This is not an official release schedule, so make sure you add salt for the release timeframes that have not been confirmed yet.++
April
- Idoneth Deepkin pre-order April 14th with an initial release date of April 21st (going on 4 weeks of releases)
Q2
- Necromunda: House Van Saar
- Codex: Deathwatch, Imperial Knights, and Harlequins Knights most likely arriving around May 12th followed by a whirlwind release of two more codex books to close out the fiscal year sales wise for Games Workshop.
Q3
- Imperial Armor: The Fires of Cyraxus
- General’s Handbook 2018 (Age of Sigmar’s Chapter Approved)
- Adeptus Titanicus (If rumors are true)
- Necromunda: Cawdor
- New & Improved Kill Team
- Possible campaign book for 40k similar to Malign Portents (summer timetable)
- Orks
Prior to 2017, there was always a 40k Imperial Armor released late summer (technically they followed this pattern last year with the Indexes) and a new Horus Heresy supplement around the holidays, which still happened of sorts with the new red book update.
Q4
- Horus Heresy Book 8: Angelus/Malevolence (It appears they changed the name from Angelus to Malevolence)
- Codex: Genestealer Cults
- Necromunda: House Delaque
- Codex: Space Wolves
- Chapter Approved 2018 featuring Sisters of Battle Beta rules. ( to be released the following year)
- Christmas Bundles
So looks like for whatever game system you play, there are a lot of releases coming your way in 2018. Fans of Warhammer 40,000, Age of Sigmar, Shadespire, Necromunda, and Horus Heresy all have something to look forward to this year.
What do you think about the releases we know so far? Are you looking forward to a crazy ramp-up of 40k in May?
