Exciting times for Age of Sigmar Fans continue as new artifact rules and points costs for Malign Sorcery were just spotted!
This morning, there are pictures floating around the internet that are looking like each realm will have its own artifacts. Malign sorcery spells will also cost points to use.
Warhammer Community gave us some details of what is coming in this box set. Looks like you don’t have to worry about hunting down a couple spell models. They’ll all be in one spot and are even coming with painting tutorials
Let’s dive in starting with the miniatures:
Malign Sorcery Contents
Most of these spells are what we’ve previewed before. With the exception of Prismatic Palisade, the Emerald Lfieswarm, Soulsnare shackles, and Geminids of Uhl-Gysh.
Inside the Malign Sorcery box, you’ll find the full Malign Sorcery supplement – your guide to magic in the Mortal Realms. This book takes a closer look at magical lore in the Age of Sigmar, and the arcane materials that accumulate in each realm, such as Aetherquartz and Cyclestone. There are pages of spectacular new art and background depicting the unbound living magic rampant across each of the realms. You’ll even find painting guides for many of the endless spells, to help you get them ready for your own games.

Realm-Specific Artifacts
It looks like instead of choosing from a list of relics to take that are specific to your army, you can choose from the artifacts specific to the realm you’re fighting in. There are 6 artifacts for each realm. These artifacts directly reflect the realm and add a degree of fluff to the game.
One very important thing to note: It looks like his booklet of artifacts of the realms will be coming in the Malign Sorcery package. Even if you don’t plan on using too much Malign Sorcery, you will still want to try and get your hands on the booklet.
Malign Sorcery & Points Cost
The Malign Sorcery spell minis are going to be easy-to-build and come in different colors depending on the spell. The bright side is that all of the spells are together. You won’t have to chase multiple box sets down to get the one you’ll actually use.
From the looks of it, this is the Chinese plastic we have seen for all the starter sets and ETB kits to date. While it great looks this material since it’s inception has failed to capture the level of detail that the multipart plastic kits manufactured in Nottingham do.
Looks like the spells are pretty cheap points wise too, all things considered. The Purple Sun is 100 points but it is an endless spell after all. It looks like you can’t have 3 suns running around at once because your maximum is 1 per army. Darn…
Note the Balewind Vortex saw a significant points drop as well.
