The world of tabletop gaming is gearing up for the Monsterpocalypse pre-release at Gencon 2018. Let’s take a look at this beast of a miniatures game.
Privateer Press has created many great games in their history, most notably their Warmachine and Hordes franchises. Both of which have different game mechanics but can be played as one larger miniatures game.
Monsterpocalypse Pre-Release at Gencon 2018
Two different single-player starter sets offer players a choice between Protectors and Destroyers. Once a side has been chosen, players can expand and customize their force with Monster, Unit, and Building packs and tailor their play experience with a variety
of supplementary accessories.
Their newest project Monsterpocalypse is a miniatures game where you choose one of two agendas to either save or destroy the world in an epic battle of massive miniatures combat. Also within these agendas are six individual factions to choose from.
Let’s take a look at these agendas and the factions within.
The Protectors
The Protectors are three factions that share a common goal of saving the planet from the evil Destroyers and save humanity from certain doom.
The Destroyers
The Destroyers are an evil collection of otherworldly beings hell-bent on the fall of humanity and the consumption of the world.
The Factions
Each agenda has three individual factions to choose from to help you gain the upper hand.
The Protectors

- Shadow Sun Syndicate
- Terrasaurs
The Destroyers
- Plant Eaters
- Martian Menace
- Lords of Cthul
Units
Each of the six factions are made up of giant Monsters and smaller units. The units move across the city taking key strategic positions to generate special powers and abilities for you big guys to do more damage to the enemy.
