GW Rumor Engine: A Torch to Light Your Way

A new rumor engine has trickled down to us from the GW headquarters. Check out what we’ve got as we explore some possibilities.

Games Workshop revealed another rumor engine bit this morning. It’s undoubtedly a torch. But who’s carrying it…are they even “carrying” it at all? Let’s find out.

Anyone could see that this is a torch. But who or what is carrying it? Well, right off the bat, it reminds us of the Fire Mages from the Free People in Fantasy.

fire mage

See the torches on this guy’s shoulders? Even his staff is one big torch. Maybe a named Fire Wizard could be making its way to AoS 2.0 for a faction.

We know that Wizards are worth their weight in gold in AoS. With the ability to outreach most shooting attacks, spew out mortal wounds, and deny the enemy their spells, wizards are a huge game changer. Maybe the Order will be able to ally one in and unlock some unique spells. Who knows.

objectives

Just so we don’t put all of our eggs in one basket, let’s check out some other possibilities. This could be another piece of the special objective markers for AoS. Maybe there will be a second wave of objective markers in the future. Could the torch be stuck into the ground atop a mound of dirt as a marker? It’s definitely not outside the realm of possibilities here.

What do you think this rumor engine could go to? Is it for AoS at all? Are you leaning more toward the Wizard model or just some objective markers? Let us know in the comments of our Facebook Hobby Group.
