Now that Marneus Calgar has paved the way for other characters to start turning Primaris, here are some we’d like to see/expect in the near future.
Primaris are somewhat of a sore subject depending on who you ask in terms of 8th edition gameplay. But they might be the next top unit for Space Marines further down the road. Of course, if a character knew he could become more powerful than he currently is, he would do whatever he needs to in achieving that power.
Let’s check out some of the characters we think would make sense to cross over into the Primaris world.
Captain Lysander
Captain Lysander would make a great addition into the Primaris Named Character selection. We’ve already seen the Imperial Fist Primaris Battleforce come with exclusive upgrade sprues giving Primaris units powerfists. This is the first time we’ve seen any non-character Primaris unit get a special weapon like that.
If you didn’t know it, the last of the Imperial Fists were actually killed off a long time ago. The last Captain fell after killing one of the great Ork beasts. That being said, if Cawl had some kind of hidden away gene-seed from Rogal (specifically for this event in mind), he could make living, breathing Primaris-sons of the Primarch. Maybe GW has chosen e one of the lesser 40k Chapters to be brought up to speed. Could a Primaris Lysander be a viable option?
Mephiston
Mephiston would be another character that would fit into the Primaris like a glove for two reasons.
Reason one: being that his model is absurdly out of date. The pose on the model isn’t something that screams “Lord of Death”. On top of that, the kit gives almost no options for customization.
Reason two: if he is THE librarian of the Blood Angels and his reputation for being a complete badass is true, we feel like he would most definitely cross over into being a Primaris. Especially if it meant that he could get more attacks with his sword.
Imagine seeing a Dracula-looking Primaris tower over you as your Fire Warrior buddies failed their OVERWATCH SHENANIGANS and now you all have no choice but to take the full brunt of his wrath.
Iron Hands Character-X
Iron Hands being one of the ONLY main Chapters that don’t have a single named HQ, we think some Primaris would eventually step up and earn a name for himself. Eventually becoming some kind of Captain/Techmarine.
A Named Primaris Techmarine would be so fluffy it would physically hurt.
Of course, GW can take Primaris in any direction they want to. These are just some of the first characters that come to mind that may turn Primaris. We know there are still a ridiculous amount of older Space Marine characters that need to have their models updated. They may be at the front of the line.
