We’ve got a bundle of possible new unit rumors out of the upcoming Malevolence book VIII for Horus Heresy. Check out the latest for 30k!
Spotted coming from a user named Charlo on Bolter and Chainsword, we’ve got a few “leaks” that are more like rumors at this point. We’ll be going over the latest, but remember to take everything with a grain of salt.
Book 8: Malevolence Rumors
Charlo posted in a thread on Bolter and Chainsword mentioning some points, rules, and more. Check out everything they had to say…but remember to take it all at face value.
- There looks to be a host of new Consuls on the way: Warmonger, Mortificator, Armistos, Primus Nullificator, and Esoterist.
- Primus Nullificator: is rumored to be under 50pts. He’ll come with Cataphractii armour, an Aether-Shock Maul (S+2, AP4, Deflagurate), Hexagrammic Wards that’ll make Daemons reroll invulnerable saves, and can be a level 1 mastery Psyker. If you choose him to be a Psyker, you can take units of Nullificators (which we’ll talk about later) as non-compulsory troops.
- Armistos: is supposed to be under 25pts. He’ll come with Hardened Armor, MC Heavy-Bolter OR Volkite Culverin, and an Augury Scanner. One unit equipped with the same heavy weapon as him gains Master-Crafted on their weapons.
- Warmonger: is supposed to be under 50pts and comes with Digital Lasers, Iron Halo. He’ll Grant himself and a unit deepstrike.
- Mortificator: is supposed to be under 30pts and comes with a servo-Arm, Corpulent Stave. You’ll have to take a couple Dreadnoughts with this guy as well. The unit that this guy joins becomes fearless. Attacks always target the Dreads. All the Dreads may shoot at a different target. If one runs they all must. If two or more Dreads target a single model in melee combat, their attacks gain Shred & Sunder. On top of all the good Dreadnought support, glancing and penetrating hits will be ignored on a 5+.
- Esoterist: is set to be under 20pts and may take a force weapon. If they aren’t equipped with Terminator armor, they may take psyk-out grenades or archeotech pistol. He’ll have the Support Officer rule and can take Sanctic/malefic powers up to Master level 2.
New Legion Nullificators
A new unit of Space Marines are coming to the Legions. They’re called Nullificators and will be decked out with Cataphractii Terminator armor and special hammers. They’ll also have Hexagrammic Wards (which make Daemons reroll invulnerable saves). They can also take fists instead of hammers. The Sergeant has WS5 and 3A. Also, any model can take a Toxiferrum Flamer. We still don’t have any clue on what the flamer can do. (Remember, these guys become a non-compulsory troop choice with the Primus Nullifcator from above).
