Don’t miss the new Primarch and Blood Angels rules as Forge World’s Horus Heresy game is starting to rev up with excitement once again!

Spotted on Imgur, we’ve got a first-hand look at some Blood Angels stats sheets for the Malevolence book VIII from Forge World. On top of that, Hobby Hero Garro gave us a list of some of the details for the Legion. Sit back, buckle up, and all hail Sanguinius!

Sanguinius’s Wargear & Rules

HH BA 1

HH BA 2
Looking at Sanguinius, he’s got some crazy rules. Sanguinius and another unit can act as a surgical knife. The unit that Sanguinius joins doesn’t scatter when it comes in from deepstrike! His Regalia Resplendent armor is pretty much what you’d expect from normal Primarch armor. He’s got a 2+/4++. The unique thing about Sanguinius’s armor is that you’re able to reroll failed invulnerable saves after he charges. Sanguinius is really able to kill just about anything he touches anyway. This armor just added insult to injury for your opponent.

Looking at his wargear, it’s been covered before. His melta pistol, Infernus, is a free two shot, one use gun that can cut through armor like butter. You’ve also got options between his spear and Moonsilver or the Sword Encarmine. You get a real killer for only 485 pts!

Chapter Master Raldoron

raldoron

Raldoron is kind of like SigismundLITE. He’s a pretty good swordsman at WS 7 and 4 attacks. He’ll be able to slice and dice most normal Marine units. But he’s also decently priced at 180 pts. He really just seems like a solid backbone character to help you hold up a flank on the table or even assist some Terminators in moving up the board.

Judicar Aster Crohne

blood angels captain chapter legion

Aster Crohne is a brand new character centered around the Angel’s Tears. He’ll have two hand flamers, rad grenades, artificer armor, and a special axe. He’ll come with a ton of special rules. One lets him go back into reserves on a 4+ with a wound left the first time he dies.

The second, you pick D3 enemy units at the start of the game. Crohne, Destroyers, and Angel’s Tears units get Rending and Shred if they use their hand flamers on the units. You’ll have to get in pretty close to torch the dudes. But with Crohne having two hand flamers, you should be able to do some real damage.

Angel’s Tears

HH BA 4

The Angel’s Tears look to be a fast harasser-type unit. They’re the Destroyer-type units we’ve been hearing about. With everyone getting a jump pack and a host of melee/ranged weapons, they’ll be able to fill any battlefield role you lack. Flying Volkite Serpenta doesn’t sound too shabby if you’re trying to clear off some Daemons from an objective!

Crimson Paladins

BA crimson paladins

3-5 man units with power weapons or the rending sword from the DBC and shield. shield confers -1S to enemy units in combat.

These are the new Terminators whose models were previewed not too long ago. Their shields give -1 to enemy Strength in combat and the whole unit gets a 5++ FNP if they are outnumbered in melee. This gets improved if there are double the number of enemy models in combat! Thow these guys into a tarpit and have them go to work.

Dawnbreaker Cohort

blood_angels_legion

5-10 man jump infantry in artifcer armour, all armed with a ‘falling star’ power spear, same melee stats as a guardian spear without the lightning strikes rule. any model may replace spear with a pair of fancy power swords, each sword has a different set of special rules, but you can only use one at a time. one has shred and +1 initiative, other has rending and sunder. they have a mini (half range) grenade launcher as their ranged weapon. enemy units take D6 krak grenade hits if they’re within 6” of this unit when it deep strikes (after scatter). Squad can have melta bombs.

Rite Of War: Day of Sorrows

HH bA 5

This Rite of War is brutal. If you’re playing an objective-based game, this will probably be your go-to option. Your units are immune to pinning and become fearless in your deployment or if they’re on an objective. In addition, you’ve got a free 5+++ FNP that turns on if one unit gets blasted.

Rite Of War: Day of Revelation

HH BA 6

Want to run a shock and awe list? This was made for you. Everything that can fly must come in from deepstrike on turn one. However, when you do, there’s no scatter role. You can surgically place all of your units exactly where they need to go. But the fun doesn’t stop there! They also get a free 5+ cover save AND their ranged weapons gain the pinning special rule. If you’ll be charging into combat, you also get a free +1 initiative to help you strike first. Suppress the enemy and take control of the entire board in a single turn.

Blood Angels as a whole are looking to be a very strong Legion. You’ve got options between Rites of War that play totally different. Will you spam jump packs and strike from the skies with the Day of Revelation? Or will you fight tooth and nail and refuse to give up an inch of ground with the Day of Sorrows Rite of War? Let us know in the comments of our Facebook Hobby Group.
