Like clockwork, we’re back with another rumor engine from GW. We can actually “sort of” tell what we’re looking at too. Let’s break it down!

Warhammer Community dropped another rumor engine this morning showcasing a hand holding some kind of wrapped u[ bit. We think it’s some kind of staff/weapon but it could be something like a cable/rope too. Either way, here’s the bit:

Here’s the bit we’re talking about. You can see it’s some kind of hand gripping what almost looks like a wrapped up weapon. Maybe it’s just a woven leather handle that looks weird because of the black and white filter.

Now let’s talk about this hand…It looks like it’s got the pointy fingers and armor plating that you’d see from a Chaos Marine. However, we just saw Chaos get a ton of support so we don’t think it’s necessarily anything for them again. This might be a “far out” idea but…Could this be a bit for a character in AoS? More specifically a Slaves to Darkness character?

slaves to darkness

These are some Slaves to Darkness Varanguard models from GW’s line and they fit all the criteria for this bit. We don’t think that this bit is going to a revamped Varanguard kit per-say. But we’re saying that the weapon and armor design fits right into the ballpark for these guys.

Looking at their basic battleline unit, you really can’t get any more rank & file with these guys. Plus, these dudes also have the same wrappings and plate armor as the rumor engine. Slaves to Darkness are an older AoS faction with a main character that’s responsible for a ton of lore (looking at you Archaon). They could really use some love and that might be what GW is doing!

What do you think about the rumor engine bit? Could this be going to Slaves to Darkness? Tell us what your thoughts are in the comments of our Facebook Hobby Group.
