GW has a lot in store for the hobby scene waiting right around the corner. Check out the latest updates on everything there is to know about Citadel paints.
Multiple retailers have confirmed the prices on GW’s new paint lineup and perhaps, more importantly, the exact sizes of the bottles.
We’ll be breaking down the paints by category including prices and whatever the latest word is on each.
New Base Paints
Base paints are going to be sitting at $4.55 for a 12mL pot But it’s not just these new base paints we’re getting more air colors like the ones above!
New Air Paints & Pot Size
Air paints are going to be coming in 24mL pots instead of the normal 12mL that we’ve seen in the past. On top of that, they’ll be going for $7.80 each. While we’ll be paying more for the pots, we’re actually going to be saving money per mL.
In January, we saw 12mL pots go for $4.25. (.3541 per ml). However, with the bigger pots and new price, $7.80 for 24 ml is (.3125 per ml). That totals out to be .70 cents cheaper by volume!
New Layer Paints
Layer paints will still be going for $4.55 a 12mL pot as well. However, some of the old Edge paints will now be categorized as Layers!
Moving over to the Layers line are the following:
- Gauss Blaster Green
- Baharroth Blue
- Dorn Yellow
- Fulgrim Pink
- Dechala Lilac
- Krieg Khaki
- Blue Horror
New Technical Paints
It looks like the old Texture paints are all becoming Technical paints in 24mL pots for $7.80 each. So if you need some Stirland Mud, Argellan Earth, etc. get ready to see them listed under Technicals.
Contrast Paints
Contrast was only the begging it seems. We are very proud to report that our initial assessment of size was correct and all of the new Contrast paints will be coming in a 18ml pot for $7.80 each. If you still want more info on this new paint line, be sure to check out some of our previous articles.
Sitting somewhere between a layer and a shade, new hobbyists will be able to pump out their armies and more experienced painters will be able to pull off unique effects. It can be used across the whole spectrum of painters!
Rattle Can Primer
The new primer shades that are designed to work Contrast, will be going for $19.50 per can. These will have a more neutral-light tone that gives contrast paints a perfect backdrop to bring out the paint color.
All in all, we’re about to get hit with a massive hobby update. Some prices have changed, paints have been recategorized, and a whole new lineup is here. With all that said, what paints are you going to be going after first?
