After getting your models painted and looking great, you’ll want to display them. This can expose them to pet hair, dust, and debris from throughout your dwelling. This can make them look not their best, so use these easy hobby hacks to get your models back to normal in no time!
Prevent Dust From The Beginning:
Using common household items, you can dust your well-painted miniatures to keep them looking fresh. Dust and debris can accumulate on any surface but can be a problem on your miniatures. Getting into the right spots to dust your minis without damaging them can be difficult. Use so compressed air to dust them quickly and easily. The Electronics Duster air cans work great for quick dusting.
Removing Accumulation
The Electronics Duster can be a great start to getting the bigger chunks of dust off your miniature. Isopropyl Alcohol can be used as well with an airbrush to moisten certain areas of your miniature. The Alcohol Rinse is used to dislodge and clean the surface of the miniature. 50% water to 50% Isopropyl Alcohol is all you need to add to your airbrush paint pot. As a precaution, always wear of mask and use this technique is a well-ventilated area as using Isopropyl Alcohol in an airbrush atomizes it and this can be harmful if inhaled.
Be safe when you hobby!
After letting your model dry off fully from its Alcohol Rinse use Model Master Clear Lacquer Gloss coat to seal in your model’s paint. This will also lock in and protect the Alcohol Rinse to prevent further dust, and will not craze or frost your model again.
