It’s been another red-hot year for Games Workshop, and as expected their sales are spectacular.  So what is next for the model makers from Nottingham?

Before we jump in, remember that the GW’s 2018 financial year that just ended in was carried over from June 2018. With that said, between AoS, 40k, and a multitude of skirmish games, GW hasn’t slowed down one bit in bringing us new content to throw our hobby dollars at. So without any more delay, here’s how their year went!

GW Financials Unstoppable: 2018-2019 Report

Looking at GW’s financial report:

The table is calculated at £1 million for each value.

Take a minute and compare the two columns to each other. The bold column is the most recent. Just look at the growth in every section.  Matter of fact from 2017 their sales are up from 155 million GBP. That’s a two-year growth of 100 million folks!

There is a steady margin of % increase across the board bringing the company millions in revenue under each section. And with GW’s success only getting bigger, Kevin Rountree, GW’s CEO had this to say:

An amazing set of results – the best year in Games Workshop’s history, so far. You can once again see from these results that our business and the Warhammer Hobby are in good shape.
The board and I continue to believe that the prospects for the business are good.

Compare last year’s stock value even, with this year’s:

Overall, the company has had roof-breaking success from all of their previous years and it looks like there’s no sign of the company slowing down. Especially after the announcement of plans to keep the product in people’s hands through warehouse and supply chain expansions to provide more stock.

Risks and uncertainties

Roundtree and company appear still very levelheaded in their summation of the current risks to the company overall.  Brexit, ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), and Supply chain management are all still on the board’s mind.

In my opinion the greatest risk is the same one that we repeat each year, namely, management. So long as we have the right people in the
right jobs we will be fine. In the past, we have had far better success when we recruit from within for our senior roles. Problems will arise if the
board allows egos and private agendas to rule. I will do my utmost to ensure that this does not happen.

Summary
An amazing set of results – the best year in Games Workshop’s history, so far. You can once again see from these results that our business and

With all this being said, what are your thoughts on GW’s product pace?  What would you like to see GW release next? A new 40k faction? Or more support for Xenos across the board?
