SM Vehicles Are Great Again: Invictor & Impulsor Rules

Don’t miss the new rules previews for the brand new Space Marine Primaris Impulsor and Invictus Warsuit! These look like they will be super fun!

Coming from Warhammer Community, they dropped a huge preview on more of what’s on the way for Space Marines. Looking at the vehicles, here’s some of what they’ll be bringing to the table.

If you missed the latest on the new Infantry models, make sure you get caught up!

Primaris Impulsor- Dedicated Transport

primaris impulsor

This is the dedicated transport we’ve been asking for since the start of 8th edition. We won’t have to rely on Repulsors solely for getting our Primaris Marines down the field. in fact, this thing is coming with rules specifically designed to lob Marines out quickly.

In addition to a huge variety of weapon options and other handy upgrades, it’s also a nifty transport option for your Primaris Space Marines, able to bear six models (perfect for shifting a squad of five and an accompanying Character) safely to battle within its armoured hull.

In addition to being able to take a squad of three Aggressors (we assume) in each Impulsor, you’ll be able to move with this transport, THEN throw the dudes out. Of course, the flamer loadout on Aggressors just got a lot better if you take the +3″ tactic.

The goodness doesn’t stop there! You’ll also be able to give the transport a 4++ invuln (something that a ton of transports lack), an AA Skytalon Array, a Bellicastus missile array, or even an Orbital Comms array.

Impulsors can also become mortal wound bombs with the once per-game orbital barrage from the comms. This isn’t too shabby considering it seems to be spammable. However, in the heart of a true transport, we’re hoping that this thing with a 4++ invuln shield is cheap!

Remember too, for both of these vehicles, those sweet new enhanced chapter tactics extend to them as well!

Invictor Tactical Warsuit

invictor warsuit

An Invictor Tactical Warsuit is, in essence, a Redemptor Dreadnought that has been stripped back and redesigned with lighter, sound-dampening materials for use on covert operations. Why is this cool? Because their design makes them so stealthy that they can even set up in a concealed forward position like the Infiltrators and Incursors!

This is the first Dreadnought we’ve seen that comes with an innate ability to infiltrate. But on top of this nifty new design, it’s got some serious firepower that is nothing to scoff at. Especially when you roll three deep!

Each chassis is coming kitted with six autocannon shots and 2D6 exploding heavy bolter-profile shots. Running three of these alone equates to 18 autocannon shots alone. -Yikes.

Are you not entertained!??

Lastly, it might look silly, but the Heavy Bolter pistol actually has a purpose. If this gets tied up in combat, its heavy bolter sidearm turns into Pistol 3.

With two vehicles on the way to the Primaris force, neither of them are looking to be a bad choice. We still have to see the points cost on everything but at the very least, Primaris Marines are still getting that much-needed support.

What do you think about these rules? Will you be maxing out the Warsuits in your list? Is an invuln better than a mortal wound bomb on the Impulsor?
