There’s a mysterious video that’s been put out from GW and it has us scratching our heads. Check out what could be waiting for us in Autumn.
Warhammer Community recently revealed a video called Psychic Awakening with the ending frame showing the Imperial “I” and an eye. What could be coming to the Imperium?
Space Marines Be Getting New Psychic Units?
Could Space Marines be getting psychic units? And no, we don’t mean Grey Knights. We’re talking about Thousand Sons-style units with a Psyker in each squad. At face value, if this was the case, it would be hard to justify why Grey knights would even remain a faction. However, check out the video for yourself.
Looking at the symbol from the video, the “I” makes us automatically think about the Inquisition and all of its subdivisions. (i.e Ordo Xenos, Ordo Malleus, etc.). So could there be a new branch of some Imperial “higher-ups” coming to hit the table in the form of Psychic squads?
AoS Has Been the Tester for 40k
There is some serious truth to this pic. AoS started up and Stormcast Eternals hit the scene being the (better, faster, superior) fighters from what the Empire had. Fast forward and 40k got the bigger, faster, Primaris Marines.
After that, Vanguard Hunters acting like Recon units for the rest of the Stormcast hit the field and the Infiltrating Phobos Primaris followed suit shortly after. The latest unit to hit the Stormcast’s arsenal are a bunch of Warrior Priests that could channel powers into their weapons and dish out mortal wounds.
Looking to 40k, we could see some mini-level Psyker Primaris squads hit the table.

While nothing is confirmed or set in stone here, there’s definitely a parallel to be drawn between the two games. What are your thoughts on Primaris squads of Psykers? Would this put Grey Knights out of play? Could this be a part of Grey Knight support? Perhaps they have they been here all along…
