On a Mechanical Wing & Prayer: New GW Rumor Engine!

gw rumor engineA rumor engine is out and this is one of the hardest ones we’ve ever been left to solve. Can you guess which faction this is for? Take a look for yourself!

Like clockwork, Warhammer Community posted up another rumor engine showcasing what looks to be some kind of wing. While there are a few likenesses to other models on the bit, there’s no real clear answer as to what this goes to. Check this out.

A Mechanical Wing Has us Stumped: GW Rumor Engine

Looking at this bit, it’s not confirmed but our guess is that it’s some kind of wing. The only real similarity to other factions we can see in this bit is the ball joint in the center of the bit. While it’s not an exact match, it looks somewhat like a negative version of an Armiger Knight’s leg joint.

With that said, it’s hard to tell what the mysterious material is between the metal rods. As we’ve said before, it looks like some kind of wing that maybe a grimdark Davinci cooked up. So if this is a wing, is that just regular fabric or something more sinister like skin pulled tautly?

If this is something like skin, it automatically brings us over to something like a Dark Eldar body modification or maybe even some kind of new Necron Flying Flayed-One. The sockets, studs, and joints all seem to match Dark Eldar styling.

It’s also not completely out of the realm of Age of Sigmar as GW gave us this tidbit:

We’ve been working with the Ironweld Engineers to fix the Rumour Engine, but its mysteries elude even their prodigious skills. We’re embarrassed to admit it, but for now, you’ll have to settle for this cropped image of what we can only assume is a really incredible model.

It’s no doubt that this is one of the harder mysteries GW gave us to solve. So what do you think we’re looking at? Let us know in the comments of our Facebook Hobby Group, and sign up to get your free hobby updates newsletter (with discount coupon codes) each morning as well!
