eBay Miniature Rescues is back to his normal style videos. This time he’s tackling an old-school Kharn the Betrayer model from eBay.
eBay Miniature Rescues is a unique channel that takes beat up, damaged minis and tries to restore them! It’s a relatively new channel on YouTube and is super fun to watch what they are able to do with abused and unwanted miniatures.
First off, he strips the model, then gets a solid black primer layer followed by some simple white pre-shading.
After the pre-shade apply some Citadel Contrast Flesh Tearers Red with an airbrush to all of the red armor panels. Go over that with Citadel Mephiston Red to help filter and highlight it. Citadel Wild Rider Red is perfect to use as a second more focused highlight. Using Citadel Firedragon Bright you can apply the last and topmost highlight.
Next up you can start the trim with Vallejo Copper. Then all of the silver metal can be based on Vallejo Dark Aluminum. Next up he grabs some old-school Citadel Chaos Black but you can probably use Abaddon Black if you don’t have it.
Apply that to some of the pipes, tassels, and joints. After that, use Citadel Rakarth Flesh on the handle, his skin, and the skulls as a pretty nice base coat. Then go over the skin and copper with Citadel Reikland Fleshshade. Go over all of the silver metals with Citadel Nuln Oil. After that coat the handle and skulls with a layer of Citadel Aggrax Earthshade.
Next with the washes dry, get some Citadel Druchii Violet and lightly wash the darker parts of his skin. Then, take some Vallejo White and use it on the bolts and crevices of the plasma pistol near the barrel. Highlight the skin, skulls, and handle with Citadel Rakarth Flesh. Then mix the Copper and Aluminum 50-50 and highlight all of the metal. Using Citadel Eshin Grey highlight all of the black areas.
Lastly, grab some Citadel Bloodletter Glaze and cover the white and plasma on the pistol from before.
And with that, the full Kharn model is complete!
