C’tan Like You’ve Never Seen Incredible Necron 40k Collection

ctan necron showcase 1Many asked more picture so I show them all. My C’TANS.
This was a long journey, started 10 years ago when I first draw some of them. I made a first attempt of the seven (last picture) then I decided that I can do better. I started from nothing, without plastic bits with hot glue, wire, and green stuff, to make them exactly as I want. Now that I finished these star brothers I feel like I can’t stop. Even if my Necron army must have only seven c’tan, I think I will continue. I have so many other ideas… So many gods in mind…

ctan necron showcase 2Not only did Andrea make custom C’tan, but he also put in that extra bit of hobby love and gave them detachable bases from their scenic display for in-game tabletop play! Going through the list here, we’ve got:

ctan necron showcase 3THE DECEIVER, wrapped in blue whirlwind illusion

Using inspiration from the regular Deceiver model, he used materials like Green Stuff and super glue to make the other sculpts. Yes, all of these C’tan are custom sculpts.

ctan necron showcase 4THE VOID DRAGON, Flaming heart of the forge

ctan necron showcase 5THE FLAYER, forever hungry of blood and flesh

ctan necron showcase 6THE OMNIARCH, the king, the ruler of all

ctan necron showcase 7THE OUTSIDER, the architect of crazy labyrinthic geometry

We’ve seen some incredible Knight lists as one of the more popular factions at events. But this army would be turning heads multiple tables down the line if a C’tan army showed up to roll some dice.

How He Makes Them: Glue, Wire, & A Lot of Hobby Love

ctan necron showcase progress 1On top of having mad greenstuff skills, the way he gets the effect of power surging around the minis is done by wires and small tricks with hot glue.

ctan necron showcase progress 2One of his latest creations here shows the intricacies of all the wires and glue manipulation.

This part takes some times but it is really easy. Cut many pieces of wire of the same length and shape. Curve it in the same way then, glue it to the base around the C’tan to create a spiral. When all are positioned, create a membrane between each wire. Help yourself with a knife and be sure to put enough wire to have them close to each other to make the glue stay on.

Then you do the same for the external part. Reposition pieces of. Wire all around in a way that the top touch another wire to close the structure. Cover them with hot glue again and you have made the spiral of energy

If you want a deeper look into his model-making process or just more pictures of his completed projects make sure you head over to his Facebook page and show your support.

With probably the coolest C’tan army we’ve ever seen covered, has this inspired you to start practicing with hot glue and wiring? Would this make a dope mind bullet effect on a Psyker model?
