GW Designer Darren Latham Keeps YouTube Channel Longer

Angels of death wal space marine horLongtime painter and designer for GW, Darren Latham is shutting down his personal YouTube channel, but now he’s keeping it a bit longer.

We’ve recently talked about Darren Latham shutting down his YouTube channel that has over six months worth of content. The bad news is that his channel is still going to be shut down. The silver lining, of course, is that the shutdown date has been extended.

Before we jump into the latest, here is the first word we saw on Darren shutting down his page.

Darren Latham Shuts Down His YouTube: What’s the Occasion?

Latham dropped the announcement in his YouTube video as well as in the comments that he would be stepping away from the channel. But not only will he not be making any more content, but he will be permanently closing the channel outright. It’s one thing to just stop making content and leaving it up for others. It’s not hurting anyone after all.

But to actively shut down the channel seems perhaps a little bizarre?

Why Is He Shutting Down His YouTube?

Hi all. Welcome to my last video on the channel. In this episode I tackle the base for the miniature. I’d encourage you to make your own base and have some fun with it. As mentioned in the video I was a bit restricted as to what I could use. As a last message I’d like to say how grateful I am to everyone for their support over the last 6 months. I don’t think I’ve had any negative comments which is great to see.

I’ve had countless people online and in person tell me how my videos have helped and improved their painting. It really makes me feel proud and I have a massive sense of achievement knowing that in some way this channel helped people. I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed making these videos for you, it really was a pleasure to share my knowledge. Keep painting, keep sharing knowledge. I’ll see you all over on Instagram. Thanks everyone, we have an amazing hobby community! All the best, Daz

As he mentions above, you can keep up with him over on Instagram from here on.

All of This Announced Days After Duncan Emerges Back to the Scene

duncan meme 1It’s worth noting that Duncan left GW and began hitting the hobby scene with his own YouTube channel. He produces high-quality painting videos without having to only paint GW minis or using only GW products.

Duncan has massed a huge fanbase in recent years from all of his painting videos, personal social media, and events.

GW Designer Darren Latham Keeps YouTube Channel Longer

Great news! My channel will be active for an extra month! The channel will now close on the 18th of June instead of May. Good times!

While it might not be as good of news as hearing that his channel won’t be shutting down at all, the fact that we’ve got another month to watch his content is sweet. What could have brought about an extension, we don’t know.

Given the fact that everyone is at home hobbying and doing everything online due to the crisis, the worldwide events that are unfolding might have given Darren’s channel some extra time.

What do you think caused his channel deadline to be extended? Have his videos helped you at all?
