logan grimnar ebay miniature rescueseBay Miniature Rescues is back with another tutorial and this time he’s painting the previous Logan Grimnar Space Wolves miniature!

eBay Miniature Rescues is a unique channel that shows you how to take beat up, damaged minis, and restore them to their fullest potential! It’s a relatively new channel on YouTube and it’s super fun to watch what Casey can do with some once hopeless miniatures.

This week, he shows us how you can paint a Logan Grimnar model!

Rescuing Logan Grimnar: Space Wolves Painting Tutorial

logan on baseAfter cleaning up the mini and placing him on a sand and bark base, the model is ready for the primer.

sw ebay mostly donePrime the model with Stynylrez Black. With Stynylrez Blue/Grey do the first coat of a top-down highlight. Then do it again with a hint of white added to the pot. Use Citadel Cadian Fleshtone to base the face. Move onto the silver metallic bits with Vallejo Burnt Iron as the base. Citadel Grey Seer is the base of choice for the fur coat.

Followed by Vallejo Copper to base the rest of the metals. Use any Black on the black areas and Citadel Rhinox Hide on the leather straps. Citadel Troll Slayer Orange is the base for the hair.

Using Citadel Contrast Medium and Citadel Contrast Snakebite Leather mixed together, apply it carefully to the cloak. Then use a light grey to edge highlight the armor. Using Citadel Reikland Fleshshade wash the face and the copper to darken it down a bit. Once dry, apply a varnish. After the varnish is dry, wash the whole model in Citadel Nuln Oil.

To add more detail to the face use Scale 75 Light Skin and an increasing amount of white in the mix to highlight the skin. Citadel Fire Dragon Bright is a perfect color to highlight the hair. Add an easy layer of highlight on the cloak by dry brushing Citadel Screaming Skull over it. At this point, if you want to add snow to the base you can!

The model is now complete!
