Imperial & Tau Ground Assets for Aeronautica Imperialis

Feature AeronuaticaFlying just got a lot more dangerous with the new ground assets for Aeronautica Imperialis being added to the game!

These were originally in the Taros Air War book, but today Warhammer Community gave us a more in-depth look. If you play Aeronautica this is a nice little treat to add a smattering of cheap units to your forces. While they can’t move, having some anti-aircraft weaponry scattered throughout your zone can force your enemy into certain bottle-necks and actions.

If you want to see everything going on with the game, go check it out here. For now, though, Let’s take a closer look at the rules and minis.

Hydra Flak Battery – Ground Assets for Aeronautica Imperialis:

Hydra Flak Battery Ground Asset

Hydra Flak Battery rules Ground Asset These batteries fill the air with dangerous flak that will shred enemy planes. At only eight points each, you can afford to field a ton of these. While they can only be in your zone, you can force your opponent to either come into your guns or force them somewhere else.

Basilisk Anti-aircraft Emplacement

Basilisk Battery

Basilisk Battery rulesMuch more long-ranged than the flak battery and it can cripple ships quickly. With 2+ damage these can be extremely effective. They have much less output, but each shot means so much more. They are also only one point more, so may be worth taking a decent amount of them.

KV 126 Skyfire Platform

kv 126 skyfire rulesThese use aerial markerlight drones to make hitting their target that much easier. This is more of a mid-range option with tons of firepower that will make your opponent think long and hard about getting into range. Just like the Imperial options, they aren’t many points.

KV 129 Stormfury Platform

KV 129 Stormfury

KV 129 Stormfury rulesThink of these as grounded sniper rifles. While they don’t have a huge output of shots, each one can punch through the enemy aircraft. And at a measly seven points, you can fill all kinds of space with these ground assets!

What do you think about ground weaponry being added to the game? Will you be adding these to your force?
