Is it Worth It?
Of the newer CPs we’ve seen, this is actually on the higher end of value. Plus, you get a lot of new miniatures inside, and only the Intercessors are older models. So, if you need everything inside, you basically get the Intercessors and the upgrades for free!
However, if your army is already dripping with tons of Intercessors, you might be better off grabbing exactly what you need separately. Either way, this is a great way to get a decent number of Sanguinary Guard on the table quickly.
The newer 10th Edition Combat Patrols have been underwhelming so far, and this is following the trend, but it at least has more value than the previous few we’ve seen.
How Many Points Is This?
So, you’re wondering how many points the Blood Angels Combat Patrol box racks up, eh? Well, in Warhammer 40k 10th edition, this box hits with about 500 points. But, as you know, the tides of the Grimdark universe are ever-shifting, and with the latest points updates, that number could quickly fluctuate.
One minute, you’re ready to purge heretics, and the next, you’re recalculating your list because the points gods have decided to have some fun.

Blood Angels Combat Patrol Contents & Description
At the front of this furious advance is the Blood Angels Captain, decked out in some seriously fancy artificer armor, complete with sculpted muscles for that extra flair. He’s right at home leading a squad of 10 Assault Intercessors, all revved up and ready to slice through enemies with their chainswords.
But even they’ll have to hustle to keep pace with the two squads of three Sanguinary Guard soaring ahead, eager to bring the pain to anyone in their path.

Blood Angels Captain
When this madness is restrained, the Blood Angels are paragons of nobility and dignity. The Captains leading the companies of Baal exemplify the Emperor’s finest, blending remarkable combat skills with a regal presence that commands respect from planetary governors. Their new miniatures capture this duality perfectly, showcasing their cultivated virtues and readiness for war.
Assault Intercessors Squad
Assault Intercessors are a go-to choice in any Chapter’s lineup for getting up close and personal. They blast away with heavy bolt pistols as they rush in, then dive straight into the action, tearing through enemies with some vicious chainsword strikes.
Sanguinary Guard
The Sanguinary Guard trace their origins back to Sanguinius himself, handpicked to stand as his closest protectors. These aren’t just any Astartes—these are the chosen few, selected from those already considered elite among the Blood Angels. Even after their role expanded into battlefield operations across the Imperium, the tradition of choosing only the very best remains sacred.
This isn’t merely tradition—it’s a decree from Azkaellon, Sanguinius’ right-hand warrior, who made sure each Successor Chapter upheld this legacy through the Codex Astartes.
Azkaellon wasn’t just preserving the Guard’s exclusivity for tradition’s sake; he was shaping their role as an ongoing symbol of the primarch’s angelic image. Whether soaring down from the skies with radiant death masks or charging fearlessly into the thick of combat, the Sanguinary Guard carry not just weapons but the living memory of their father.
New Blood Angels Combat Patrol Rules
As you’d expect from a Combat Patrol built for close combat mayhem, the Sanguinary Spearhead comes loaded with rules to help you blitz across the battlefield. The Blood Angels may be all about close quarters, but they’re still Space Marines at heart, rocking the same Oath of Moment army rule as before.
What sets them apart this time are new Enhancements, secondary objectives, and Stratagems that sharpen their melee game even more. You can get all the new Blood Angels Combat Patrol rules right here.
Red Thirst Rule
The classic Red Thirst is back, too, giving your Captain and his ground-pounding maniacs an extra burst of speed when the bullets start flying. And with the inherent toughness of Space Marines, they’ll shrug off a lot of the incoming fire as they close in for the kill.
Stratagem
If two Wounds and a 3+ Save aren’t quite enough to keep Baal’s finest standing, you can always pull out the Refuse to Bend Stratagem and lean on their famed resilience.
It’s especially handy early on when you’re closing in on the enemy, as units outside that crucial 12” range get a serious boost—bumping their Feel No Pain to a 5+. It’s not bad for keeping your squad in fighting shape as they charge ahead.
What to Buy Next?
If you can grab this and the Death Company box, you will have a decent starting force with a ton of infantry (and have saved some decent cash)! From there, we would add some tanks for fire support and maybe another Dreadnought or two. There is also something to be said about just buying the minis you think are cool and building an army around them!
In conclusion, the new Blood Angels Warhammer 40k Combat Patrol box is like the golden ticket to enter the world of Warhammer 40k mayhem. With its speedy Blood Angels, snazzy Captain, and a bunch of other cool miniatures, you’re all set to unleash chaos on the battlefield.
