Place in Mythology
Skyweaver lore starts way back in the earliest of times. The flying machines we know today take after the original Skyweaver. In the ancient Eldar Mythology, the Skyweaver was the most fickle and youngest of the Cosmic Serpent’s children. The mythology depicts it as a being composed of endless small flying serpents. If hundreds of flying serpents weren’t enough, it also always spoke in riddles and had the attention span of a goldfish and was constantly distracted by, well, anything. Maybe that’s why the Skyweavers are so fast and nearly impossible to hit!
The Skyweaver escaped the normal realms of reality and spread itself throughout the galaxy. Each small piece telling a different story of the Laughing God, this confused the enemies of the Aeldari greatly. The Skyweavers of today fight their enemies the same way today. Constantly confusing and perplexing the enemy before delivering the killing blow.
Fighting on the Battlefield
Their Shuriken Cannons fire dizzying rounds on the enemy before they finally swarm into close combat and tear the foe apart. While large portions of the Weavers exchange their traditional weaponry for Haywire Cannons, some still stick to the old ways of doing things. Whichever weaponry they choose, it doesn’t really matter. Their speed, grace, and accuracy are always above almost any race in the Grimdark future. The Imperium’s bulky weaponry is no match for such grace!
For close range, they love to wield star bolos. Weapons which are frustrating as they are deadly. While they can cut straight through a Space Marine’s armor. if they fail in that, they will trip up the enemy and make the final assault all that much easier!
On top of their amazing weaponry, their holo-suits are equally as frustrating. they look simply like a prismatic blur as they roar across the battlefield. Many Xenos is frustrating to humans, but few are simply as annoying as the Harlequins!
That does it for this quick history! Don’t forget about all the great Xenos armies out there and dust off your more spectacular minis soon!
