The Black Library Celebration 2021 will be taking place over two weeks and featuring the new Uriel Ventris mini! Check it out.
Today on Warhammer Community they revealed more previews for the upcoming celebration. If you like Black Library books, well you’re in luck! There are going to be new books and releases of classics as well! On top of that, Uriel Ventris is going to be getting a limited time mini with actual rules. Let’s check it out!
Black Library Celebration 2021 & Uriel Ventris Preview
The model comes with rules for using Ventris in your Ultramarines army, making him perfect for collectors and gamers alike.
Hopefully, his rules will be better than Valerian and Aleya when they first came out! But either way, it will be fun to play with a character that has such a storied career in the 40k lore. Also, he’s a Space Marine, so you know his rules won’t be too bad…
Ventris is a character who has a lot more presence and back story than even some of the arguably more important characters. He has had books on him for nearly 20 years! There are even callbacks and evidence on his model. That rose on his shoulder? He earned that in the 2002 novel Nightbringer. Easily a fan-favorite character, this model will be a slam dunk.
In usual fashion, there’s tons of great detail on the model to make it a great painting challenge when the time comes. Even if you don’t play Ultramarines it will be a great collector piece and a really fun mini to paint.
New Books Coming
After crossing the Rubicon Primaris, Ventris must adjust to his new body even as old enemies return to wage war against Guilliman’s sons.
The Swords of Calth is going to follow a new path for Uriel as he gets back into the fight for Guilliman. Maybe after you read the book you’ll be able to play some of the battles on the tabletop!
Penitent picks up where the action left off in Pariah (which is also returning to hardback, by the way) and sees Bequin exploring the mysteries of the King of Yellow in the service of Inquisitor Eisenhorn. It’s packed with explosive action and even more incendiary revelations that will change the way you look at the Warhammer 40,000 universe.
Fans of the darker corners of the Warhammer 40,000 universe will love Liber Xenologis, an art and reference book by Darius Hinks that looks at the alien races of the 41st Millennium. It explores the many Xenos species who lurk in the darkness beyond the Imperium’s borders, through the eyes of rogue trader Janus Draik (who you may recognize from the Blackstone Fortress game and novels).
Rereleases on the Way
In addition to all of these new reads, a load of classic titles are getting a refresh, including a 20th-anniversary edition of Hammers of Ulric, the second volume of the full-color Bloodquest graphic novel available to Print on Demand, and Reader’s Choice editions of Dead Men Walking and Darkblade: The Daemon’s Curse.
Will you be picking up Uriel? Which of the books will you be reading this year?
