Get ready to field all the bikes and Landspeeders with the new Dark Angels Ravenwing rules! Check out what we know so far.
Warhammer Community just revealed a host of new rules including rules and stratagems for the 2nd Company. If you don’t plan on playing with the bikes and want to see what rules we have for the more regular armies of the Dark Angels, be sure to check the latest previews!
There are a lot of new rules to go over, but if you want to see all the new kits coming with the faction, check it out here. But for now, let’s jump into what is next for the Ravenwing!
Dark Angels Ravenwing 40k Rules:
Some pretty nice rules to let your bikes actually capture objectives. Especially if you take this as a detachment with your Warlord in it, you’ll get the +3 command points on top of giving your bikes Objective Secured. You can also take just a small detachment and have all your normal troops with OBSEC and then the bikes to ride up and grab those harder to get objectives.
It’s almost like they are their own army… very cool!
Speed of the Raven
Getting an extra 3″ in the first turn is never bad! Especially since they mention they can advance and fire, get those ATV Gatling Cannons ready to mow people down on the first turn! They also revealed a little more about how it will work:
The bikers and pilots of the Ravenwing aren’t about to be left out just because they refuse to walk. In a first for a Space Marine Chapter, their special bonus to the Combat Doctrines ability is split into three parts that take effect in different turns. Best of all, they won’t be prevented from shooting when they Advance.

New Stratagems
With them having Objective secured now, this can really help you to get them across the board to where you need them. Also, it isn’t too hard to imagine your bike squads being 5 or fewer so 1 CP isn’t too bad.
This is pretty sweet for 1 CP. When the enemy wants to take down a vehicle of yours, you stop 50% of the incoming damage for 1 CP. Not too shabby. But that’s not all! Looks like the Jink rule is back.
Fans of the classic Jink rule will be happy to know that it’s still alive and well among the 2nd Company’s forces, but if you can’t afford to Advance for that delicious 4+ invulnerable save it’s good to know High-Speed Focus has your back in a pinch. Trust the master movers of the Ravenwing to dodge enemy fire even when they’re standing still.
That does it for the rules so far for the Ravenwing! Some pretty nice little changes to help your bike legions gain some effectiveness.
