Van Saar BoxOn release this box goes for $42, let’s see if the 6 minis (10ish when you count the boards as mounts) are worth the cash and how they look!

Sprues & Instructions

Van Saar instructionsThe Necromunda instructions haven’t been very impressive lately, let’s see how this one stacks up.

Van Saar instructions 2There are definitely some very small and fiddly parts and even some of the guns come in two parts. They give you some decent angles and actually seem better than most of the recent releases, for the actual minis. They even give you instructions to paint certain clear things on the sprue.

Van Saar instructions 3The Skyboards are where things get a little hard. They don’t really show exactly which bit goes where, so it may be a bit of a hassle for them.

Van Saar SpruesHere are all the sprues you get in the kit. It comes with two sprues, all the flying stands, and bases.

Van Saar sprueEverything is multi-part so you will have to trim a decent amount of flash. But overall all the bits look extremely detailed.

Completed Minis

ArcheotekThis is way smaller than Rob expected it to be! It was a bit annoying to put together because of the size. Overall it wasn’t super hard to build, but it is very fiddly with tons of small parts that don’t really have sockets to fit into. Rob had to use the box art plus the instructions to get everything correct. If you have big fingers, some of the tubes may be quite hard to actually get on there. All that said, the mini does look great!

Grav cutter

Grav Cutter shieldThe Grav-Cutter looks pretty awesome and actually went together easier than the other one. Just be very careful on the shield, because if you use too much glue, it will get some weird effects.

Size Comparisons

Size Comparison

Size Comparison 2They are the size of a guardsman, and the flight stand is basically as tall as a Primaris Marine.

Size Comparison 3

Size Comparison 4Rob really expected this guy to be bigger, but is identical in size to a guardsman, so it does make sense when you think he is just a puny human.

That does it for this one, overall two pretty cool types of minis in the box! The builds were pretty fiddly but not hard per se, just be ready for some frustration with all the small parts. Stuff has been selling out super fast lately, so if you want it, don’t wait too long!
