2nd Place: Tod Swenson- Dark Angels

gkf rtt tod DA 1For his list, Tod went for 2 detachments with the first being a vanguard led by Azrael and Ezekiel. Both are fantastic unique characters who provide support and solid combatants.  Plus with the way DA psychic powers are shaping up to be, their psykers may be an auto-include for all lists at least in the near term.

The first Elite on the list is a Bladeguard Ancient, which will buff nearby Bladeguard veterans with +1 to hit and give them a chance to fight before being removed after getting destroyed.

gkf rtt tod DA 2Of course with the Ancient, Bladeguard Veterans can take advantage of those auras. Tod went with a total of 15 Bladeguard Vets giving him access to a ton of durable, hard-hitting melee fighters that slap.

The last unit in the first detachment is a squad of 9 Deathwing Terminators all running claws which is kind of an interesting choice. These give the unit some flexibility in terms of targeting and let them benefit from re-rolls, all while being a standard hard-to-remove terminator model (just minus the 4+ inv +1 armor save from a storm shield).

The second detachment was a Ravenwing Outrider lead by a Ravenwing Talonmaster. Also in this detachment is a Ravenwing Apothecary on Bike, giving access to a unit that can zip around the battle and heal troops when needed most.

gkf rtt tod DA 4Rounding out the detachment is a total of 9 Multi-melta Attack Bikes, giving the list its source of anti-armor and a ton of mobility (and effective shooting while moving).

1st Place: Stephen Unger- Dark Angels

gkf rtt 1st da 1Stephen also went for two detachments, however instead of a vanguard and outrider, he went with a patrol and vanguard. The Patrol is lead by two Talonmasters for support.

The only troop is a 5 man Infiltrator Squad to help grab some objectives early. Two Deathwing Command Squads help add some more support and beatdowns for the next detachment. While 6 Ravenwing attack bikes with Multi-meltas add a ton of anti-armor firepower that can go fast and still be effective shooting.

gkf rtt 1st da 2The Vanguard is led by Azrael and Ezekiel, once again, both are fantastic unique characters who provide support and solid combatants. There is a single Bladguard Ancient for his leadership and fight before death auras, while 8 total Deathwing Terminators add some staying power and melee fighters.

Round this out with a Ravenwing Apothecary and you have a mobile healer to help where he is needed most.

Both lists are pretty similar with some small tweaks, but ultimately, one was the winner!

Dark Angels Victory- Congrats to Stephen on the win!
