Surprise- GW Drops Another Huge 40k Points FAQ

By Travis Pasch | February 4th, 2021 | Categories: 40k News & Articles, FAQ, News & Rumors

new warhammer 40k faq wal horIt’s only been a month since the last FAQ came out, but today another 40k points FAQ dropped and it’s something…

This was a bit of a sneaky FAQ as it wasn’t announced on Warhammer Community at the time of writing this. But if you want to download it, you can here. Something important to note about this though, once again GW has not indicated what has changed.

So you’ll have to cross-reference from the January FAQ/your codex.

Nothing jumps out as too crazy, but there were a bunch of issues with the January one, so this looks mainly to be a clean-up of that. This covers every faction out there, so if you want to play any games soon, you should definitely go check it out. Let’s get into it.

GW Drops Another Giant 40k Points FAQ

FAQ

They updated all the power levels as well, but that’s not super important. It’s also a little strange they tried to sneak this one through without much fanfare, but hey, it happens. We’re going to break down a few highlights, but since they did this for every army, which is 52 pages worth, everyone should go in and see what’s changed with their favorite factions.

Again though, they are just in black and don’t tell you how much they changed or put anything in red, so you’ll just have to cross-reference to really understand the changes.

FAQ Point changes

The Banner Malificia went up to ten points from zero in the last points FAQ- which just went down from 30. Confused? so are we, lol. Oh well, Guess Custodes players will be getting one less thing for free now. This seems to be the norm for this FAQ though, where they basically just went through and changed what they got wrong in the first one based on community comments/playtesters.

Druhkari point changes

For anyone getting excited about Reavers being ten points in the new codex, you know that couldn’t last. Let’s just hope you didn’t get in too many games with them at those points and lost all of your gaming friends. Looks like they just meant to put a 2 and typed a 1 by accident.

We’re not sure when they will be updating the app, but for now looks like you can just use this to make all your lists, or at least reference your points. Just remember that you can grab it here.

Did you notice any big changes to your factions? Was there anything that took you by surprise?
