The Best 5 Forge World Resin sets: A-Dawg’s Top Dogs
There’s this stigma in the game, where painters hate power players, power players hate Horus Heresians and Horus Heresians hate every one equally. But one thing that unites us all is the fine models produced by Forge World, and our inability to say no to buying them ( despite what our wallet or significant other might think… )
And this is exactly what this week’s A-Dawg’s Top Dogs is about, as it does not really involve playing the game, or any kind of competitive play.
It’s just about pure awesomeness and THICC resin!
5- Necrons
Forge World’s Necron range is small, but it is mighty. It is as close to 100% awesome as can be.
There are no real stinkers in there, and the Canoptek Tomb Sentinel is perhaps one of the best models altogether.
Honorable mention to the gone but not forgotten Tomb World table.
4- Tyranids
This is A-Dawg’s hot take in the list, as it is close to his heart (Max and the Twitch Chat were rooting for Custodes )
But ‘Nids do offer some very amazing models like the Dimachaeron. The Ripper Swarms are also nothing to sneeze at, as they are miles beyond their plastic counterparts.
Special shoutout to the fallen from grace Twin-Linked Devourers’ arms. You served the Tyrants well.
3- Knights
We are talking Imperial and Chaos here, and the keyword is variety – something the plastic army truly lacks (5 boxes total across both armies, c’mon man!)
Austin is a huge fan of the Moirax Knights because the rules are great.
Max likes the Cerastus Knight-Lancer, because over-compensating.
2- Eldar
We said this was all about looks, but not really. Lynx, Shadow Specters, Hornets… All the best Craftworlds units are resin, so it’s hard no to love the space elves.
They also have the Aspect Wraithknights and some pretty solid Apocalypse-friendly Titans.
1- The Space Marines Legions
Quantity: Check.
Quality: Check.
17 Primarchs: Check.
Poster boys or not, the Marine range from Forge World is incredible.
If you are more old school, you might be familiar with Forge World basically being only Chapter-Specific Shoulder Plates and custom Dreadnoughts. While those are still there, look at how far things went!
