New Be’lakor 40k Rules Previewed by GW!

belakor-40k-rulesLooks like the big guy is getting a separate set of rules for both games, check out the new Be’lakor 40k rules preview!

Warhammer Community just unveiled a preview of how the Daemon will play in 40k. We assumed he had to get a new set of rules with the size difference in the new/old minis, but now we know for sure!

They don’t mention exactly when his full rules will be released but do mention it will be later this year. They also explicitly say his full rules will be in a 40k supplement, so no free rules for the new release, oh well. The most likely candidate for his rules will either be in another Warzone book or just hopefully Chaos gets a new book soon…

If you haven’t seen his initial release details, you can check them out here. But don’t worry, we’ll show you some pics of the mini first, then get into the rules!

New Be’lakor 40k Rules Previewed by GW!

Everything from the scenic base to the new sculpts to the flaming sword. It really feels like the original Daemon Prince of Chaos Undivided has a mini to match his prowess! If you want to see more about what could be coming along with the mini, you can check that out here.

New Be'lakor 40kThey also gave him some nifty little bits to fit perfectly into 40k! From the dead Primaris on his base to the laurels to the Space Marine helmet, and laurels hanging from his wings. But, if you want to use him in both games, you can easily just leave the mini off the base, keep just the skulls on the wings and he would fit in both perfectly.

Check out the video above to see all the angles on this bad boy!

Noctic Discipline

be'lakor chaos demon hor wallLike most Daemon Princes, he’s a powerful psyker, drawing powers from his own Noctic discipline.

They don’t say anything else about his powers. But nothing wrong with knowing he’ll be getting his own discipline. Just keep your eyes peeled for more on that!

The Blade of Shadows

The Blade of ShadowsBe’lakor is so good at swinging that thing, he can neatly bisect a Land Raider in a single turn on an average day. And any lesser vehicle might as well be a child’s toy in his hands. Ancient refractor fields and preternatural agility won’t help you either. With the ability to ignore invulnerable saves at will, not even a Primarch is safe from the shadowy Daemon Prince’s wrath.

It looks like he’ll be a combat master! He can either mow down infantry with double attacks or destroy heavy armor with his Piercing Strike. We’re assuming his base Strength is high, so even at Strength User, he’s still probably wounding most infantry on 2’s or 3’s. But his Piercing Strike is kind of insane for killing anything with high wounds and toughness. Since he ignores Invuln saves and -4 AP, basically nothing will even get a save, and take a minimum of 4 Damage each strike.

Looks like he’ll live up to his giant new mini in terms of effectiveness.

Hard to Hit

Immortal VigourNot only will your opponents not be able to reroll hits, but he’s also at -1 to hit and -1 to wound! While the minus to wound is only for ranged, it will really help him get into combat without dying first, hopefully…

Overall the rules are looking pretty good so far! But be sure to keep an eye out for more to come!

What do you think about the rules so far? Are you excited to add this mini to your forces?
