eBay has unveiled a new feature that will cut time in half for listing trading cards starting with Magic the Gathering!
In an official eBay post, they have outlined the new app release that aims to empower sellers of all trading cards, mainly by cutting downtime on the listing process!
The new selling tool will support Magic the Gathering cards at launch and expand to Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh! in May, followed by sports trading cards and other collective card games later this year.
Let’s check out what’s on deck for trading card sellers:
The new app will work in the following steps:
- Open the app and select Search with your camera.
- Take a picture of the card
- Select your exact card from a few variations that the app found
- Fill in any specific information for the listing
Bam! Just like that, you should be able to rapidly list cards. Very similar to another app that TCG play uses, this is sure to be a huge hit with card sellers, especially those who use both sites. Either way, easier systems mean more cards getting listed/sold which means a better environment for both buyers and sellers alike.

In their post, eBay lists out some stats on their card sales and a bunch of data based on categories, which you can check here, but the big takeaway from the post is the date.
The app is expected to start rolling out in late April 2021, which is right around the corner!
With this app, do you have any old cards you might try to sell? Do you think eBay will continue to grow as a TCG retailer?
