If you’ve been waiting for a real-life robot in disguise, the new self-transforming $700 Optimus Prime from Hasbro is right up your alley!
Hasbro Pulse recently did a fan fest, and while some of it was a little dull, the insanity of this Optimus Prime figure makes up for it! It walks, drives, and transforms all on its own! It has over 5,000 components, insane articulation, and just looks so badass. If you have some hobby dollars laying around, you may not want to spend them quite yet and start saving them!
Not only does it transform on command it’s fully programable and can be made to follow a ton of commands. Just don’t let your pets or kids get a hold of this as it runs around, because, well, it’s almost the cost of an entire GW army! Let’s take a closer look!
Hasbro Reveals Self-Transforming $700 Optimus Prime
This bad boy has 25 voice commands, is 19 inches tall, has 60 microchips, 27 servo motors, will greet you when you say “Hey Optimus Prime,” and even say he’s your friend! So when you’re having a lonely day, just turn to good old Optimus, and he’ll cheer you right up. Look, we’ve all spent money on dumb stuff, and this isn’t dumb, it’s amazing!!!
This was developed by China’s Robosen Robotics and is like a toy on the biggest dose of steroids out there. Oh yeah, not to mention it has over 80 voice clips with some by the original voice actor Peter Cullen. This thing is just insanely amazing, and if you don’t like it, well… Let’s not even go there!
If you want to see the reveal, skip ahead in the video to the 1 hour 10 mark. They actually got Jay and Silent Bob to do the unboxing which is just sweet by itself. This has a hefty price tag, but it is just super awesome and probably worth it for any collectors out there. And, it’s setting the bar for what all toys could be like very soon.
