Privateer Press just announced their first price increases in over a decade, but it looks to only be hitting about 10% of their line- check it out!
In a recent press release, they announced the upcoming price changes and what kits they will affect. They say the rise in price is due to increasing costs on their end like labor, material, etc… which makes sense. It is just a select list of products and they put out a list of everything getting the change.
The rise in prices will take place on May 7th, so if you want to grab up some new stuff, check the list and see if it’s on there. If it is, try to grab it before May!
Just to note, this will also be affecting some P3 paints, so again, if you want them at the current price, be sure to grab them before May. If you’re curious about the changes, you can go here to download the list.
First Privateer Press Price Increase Since 2008
Let’s hear from them about the reason for the increase:
Privateer Press has announced a price increase on select miniatures and ancillary products due to rising costs of materials, labor, and shipping since the company’s last adjustment in 2008. Beginning May 7, 2021, prices on a limited number of items, including products in the Formula P3 paints line and select miniatures will see minor price increases.
“This impacts less than 10 percent of our overall product line releases,” said Sherry Yeary, president of Privateer Press, “and many of the price increases are on older models. We’ve held off on any price adjustments for over a decade now, and though we’d rather not raise any prices at all, we recognize that it’s overdue.”
Considering some big companies raise their prices almost constantly, this doesn’t feel too bad. At some point, you almost have to expect that every company will raise prices. But if it only happens once every 10-12 years, that is just a bonus for consumers we think.
They are also coming out with tons of new stuff this year, so there plenty to look forward to.
Are you planning on picking up anything on the list before the price goes up? How do you feel about the increase?
