Good News From GW on Sisters Allocations (rest… not so much)

allocations-sisters-of-battleAfter months of disappointment, more good news from GW on allocations, well, at least for 40k and Sisters…

Looks like Pre-Covid allocations are coming for all the new Sisters of Battle releases, but it’s pretty much business as usual for the rest of this week’s releases, as demand is sure to outstrip supply for the smaller releases.

For now, though, let’s check out what goes on pre-order this week, and then take a look at how many of each will be available, and round it up with our thoughts on the matter.

Codex: Adepta Sororitas $50

sisters codexCodex: Adepta Sororitas includes all of the rules and datasheets you need to bring the armoured fist of the Adeptus Ministorum to your battlefields, as well as page after page of in-depth background information, gorgeous photography, and stunning artwork. For the truly faithful, a luxury collector’s edition is also on the way to really show off your devotion to the Emperor.

Most of the recent updates have been extremely strong. That might mean Sisters will join the top tier of lists. However, if they don’t, they’ll still be getting new units and lore which is always awesome for fans of the faction.

Morvenn Vahl, Abbess Sanctorum $55

Morvenn Vahl, Abbess SanctorumLeading the Adepta Sororitas’ newcomers is the mighty Morvenn Vahl, Abbess Sanctorum and a High Lord of Terra.

If we had to guess, she’ll most likely be like a chapter master level model, with some extra stats for that giant mech of hers of course.

Paragon Warsuits $65

Paragon Warsuits

These elite Sisters are clad in the pinnacle of power armour technology, allowing them to stand toe to toe with the biggest, toughest foes the Adepta Sororitas might face.

We’ve known about these for a while now, so it’s great to finally have them coming to player’s tabletops soon!

Celestian Sacresants $55

Celestian SacresantsNot to be left out, the Celestian Sacresants load up their heavy power weapons and wade into close combat,  equipped to soak up the heaviest of enemy attacks with their huge shields. They’re also dab hands at protecting your Characters, which comes in handy when the fighting gets up close and personal.

Love or hate “look out sir” style rules, these are most likely going to have some form of them. Maybe just a targeting restriction if they are close by?

Dogmata $35

Dogmata

As if the other new units for the Adepta Sororitas aren’t scary enough, the terrifying Dogmata is here to keep a close eye on her fellow Sisters and galvanise them with her rousing hymns.

Other than some freakishly long fingers, this new support character is going to be a welcome part of any list. Squeezing out extra value from your list is always great.

Adepta Sororitas Datacards and Dice $25/$35

sisters datacards and diceAs per usual, you’ll be able to pick up a deck of Datacards to make the first few learning games smoother or get some dice to pronounce your devotion to the Sisters of Battle.

House of Faith $55

House of FaithSet the underhive ablaze with House of Faith, the essential companion for the gangs of House Cawdor. Packed full of lore, rules, and more, it’s the definitive tome for would-be saviours of the hive city’s credence (or just fans of masks and fire).

Unfortunately for the other gangs in Necromunda, Cawdor took the idea of purifying flames literally and isn’t letting up.

Redemptionists $42

RedemptionistsIncluded in the book are rules for the ruthless, uncompromising Redemptionists, fanatics who make even the particularly pious members of House Cawdor keep one eye open in case their faith is found wanting.

Speaking of flames, these wackjobs decided it was a good idea to put burning fires on their helmets. Be a real shame if any embers got on their entirely cloth-based outfits.

Cawdor Gang Tactics Cards and Dice $15 Each

cawdor cards and diceJust like sisters, you’ll also be able to pick up some cards and dice if you wish for the new Necromunda gang.

Elathain’s Soulraid $40

Elathain’s SoulraidAnother set we’ve seen a while ago, this latest Warband is lurking around the mountain for some fresh souls. Don’t let the crab trick you, these Aelves will definitely trap and take your soul.

Good News From GW on 40k Allocations (AoS not so much)

Listed to the right of each product are the allocations numbers (called “caps” now from GW) to stores from Games Workshop North America.

Like we said before, at least there is some good news this time, as the Sisters releases can be ordered up to 30, hopefully, this means whoever wants them can get them and the secondary market scalpers leave them alone.

  • Sisters of Battle Releases: 30 ea
  • Necromunda Releases 1 ea.
  • Warhammer Underworld Releases: 1 ea.

But, other than that, the allocations are pretty bad, on the Specialists Game side of things for two releases that really seemed to be hyped up by GW, this allocation is a letdown for sure (no… dat crab dou).

Overall it’s better than before, but still not great. At least this time we didn’t only have negative news to report!

What do you think of the latest round of allocations from Games Workshop? Good, bad, or more of the same?
