This new Grey Knights 40k army list got first place at a tournament over the weekend just a couple of weeks after the new codex!
If you’ve been wondering what type of Grey Knights army list you should bring to your tournament, this list has some good ideas.
Moxies August RTT recently took place at Moxie Games in Georgia and there were some cool lists but, if you read the title, the Grey Knights took it down.
Seth Piper piloted the army to victory, so first up, congrats! Don’t worry though, if you love Orks, Trevor Jones took them to second. So it looks like they are doing good things as well. Let’s get into the list and see what worked.
Grey Knights Begin to Top Tournaments…
So first up he took a Callidus Assassin, then both Crowe and Draigo. That was followed up by two Terminator squads making up a bulk of this detachment. Let’s be honest though, you don’t play Grey Knights to not bring Terminators! To finish off the detachment they went with a single Strike Squad, a Purifier Squad, and a Rhino.
One thing to note is they took just Force swords on pretty much everything as the Rapier brotherhood strat explodes (unmodified) hit rolls of 6’s
The Patrol Detachment is where things really start to get interesting. They took a Grand Master in a Nemesis Dreadknight Armor as the HQ choice.

To supplement the Grand Master they also took two more Dreadknights both armed the same way for the maximum slice and dice potential!
This detachment was keyed to the Swordbearers brotherhood who looks to be able to bring the +1 to hit pain to any unit they targeted with their 2cp Marked for Death Stratagem
Pretty cool seeing what the early GK lists may be, and it’s always awesome to see a force with three Dreadknights coming out on top!
