The allocations for this week’s Stormcast and Kruleboyz new releases from Games Workshop aren’t great this time around.
Looks like allocations are back for the new AoS releases this week. It might have to do with how long Dominion was in the online store and didn’t do as well as they had hoped, or it could be due to current weather situations, we’re not sure. Either way, stores are not that many of the new AoS, unlike 30 of most new 40k Ork releases this week.
For now, though, let’s check out what goes on pre-order this week, and then take a look at how many of each will be available, and round it up with our thoughts on the matter.
This week’s new model kits are all also Push-Fit aka Easy to build.
Stormcast Eternals Battletome $50
Sigmar’s chosen warriors have a massive array of new tools at their disposal, such as elite warriors clad in the Maker God’s freshly minted thunderstrike armour. Battletome: Stormcast Eternals contains a massive 76 unique warscrolls, extensive rules for the newly expanded Path to Glory narrative campaigns, and powerful abilities to help you seize victory on the battlefield.
Here it is, the book players have been waiting for since the Dominion starter set dropped back in July!
Stormcast Eternals Battletome Collectors Ed. $80 (Webstore)
This battletome is also available in a stunning limited edition for true champions of Order, featuring a soft-touch cover with embossed gold foil, gilt page edges, and a ribbon page marker. This edition is limited to just 700 copies, so snap yours up post-haste.
Stormcast Eternals Warscroll Cards $35
This handy pack of warscroll reference cards and two token boards to help you keep track of your spells, abilities and, battle tactics will make the task a lot simpler.
Warscroll cards are always a good purchase as they can cut down the time spent flipping through your books. You can just get the cards you need to the side, instead of having to look through every sheet for any given game.
Knight-Judicator with Gryph-hounds $35
A new Hero arises for the embattled Stormcasts in the form of the Knight-Judicator with their loyal gryph-hounds. A dedicated ranged combat specialist, the Knight-Judicator brings a devastating terminus greatbow to the field and can call upon the gaze of Sigmar himself to smite their foes.
Besides looking amazing, ranged units are rarer in AoS so having access to another one in the faction might give them a serious edge in list building.
Masters of the Sacrosanct $50
Available only from the Games Workshop webstore, this set collects the Lord-Arcanum on Gryph-charger and an Evocator-Prime, lending a storm of magical might to your forces.
This duo of characters was box-locked for a long time (three years to be exact), but now you can finally pick up your own if you didn’t want to grab the Soul Wars box previously.
Stormstrike Chariots $45
Fashioned by the hand of Grungni himself, Stormstrike Chariots are able to smash through enemy lines with ease, pulled by specially bred gryph-chargers and carrying two veteran Stormcast Eternals. These passengers strike out at any enemies foolish enough to come close, be it with a tempestuous spear or great stormbow.
50% OFF: Order Yours Now!
These chariots look like a great flexible and mobile unit that is sure to make its way into some lists in the near future.
Orruk Warclans Battletome $50
Meanwhile, the forces of Destruction marshal their troops and set out to wreak havoc on the Mortal Realms. Battletome: Orruk Warclans includes warscrolls covering greenskins of every ilk, such as the swamp-dwelling Kruleboyz, and even Kragnos, the End of Empires, plus its own suite of Path to Glory rules and much more.
If Orruks are more your flavor, you can now also get their battletome as well complete with all the new Kruleboyz rules!
Orruk Warclans Battletome Collectors Ed. $80 (Webstore)
If Destruction is the name of your game, and your other ride is a Corpse-rippa Vulcha, then the limited edition is for you, complete with its own soft-touch cover, gilt page edges, and ribbon page marker.
Orruk Warclans Warscroll Cards $35
Make playing games a doddle with this pack of 37 reference cards featuring all of the warscrolls available to the Orruk Warclans, along with two boards full of pop-out tokens to keep track of ongoing effects. Easy mode.
Once again, warscroll cards are great for playing games, and even better they tend to be pretty affordable.
Breaka-boss on Mirebrute Troggoth $50
Lead your forces into battle with a mighty Breaka-boss on Mirebrute Troggoth, combining the lumbering strength of a massive swamp creature with the wily cunning of the Kruleboyz Leaders.
Other than looking very menacing, these giant leaders are bound to keep their boyz in line without too much dissonance.
Beast-skewer Killbow $35
Is the armour plating of Stormcast Eternals and thick hides of monsters frustrating your boyz? Pierce right through them with the Beast-skewer Killbow, a vicious war machine capable of threatening even the largest foes with its razor-sharp bolts.
Destruction has had a lack of ranged options, but luckily this new armor-piercing option might help turn the tide against those shiny golden boys.
Stormcast Eternals and Orruk Warclans Dice $35 Each
With the rest of the Stormcast and Orruk releases coming, it’s time to open the gates to their dice as well! If you play either faction, these are an easy pickup.
Grand Alliance Order and Chaos Dice $35 Each
Of course with the new edition of AoS, you’ll need new grand alliance dice! These are also generic enough to use in other tabletop games without anyone even knowing.
Grand Alliance Death and Destruction $35 Each
If you are more into Death and Destruction, they will of course also get their own Grand Alliance dice next week.
White Dwarf 468 $11 (price increase, previously $9)
September’s issue of White Dwarf magazine features an Index Astartes on the Space Wolves’ Primaris successor Chapter, the Wolfspear, a Tome Celestial on the Slaves to Darkness, a host of new Kill Team content including rules for an Adeptus Mechanicus Hunter Clade, and much more besides. You won’t want to miss this issue.
White Dwarf is always packed with great hobby content and this month will not be the exception- plus this will feature new rules for both 40k and AoS as well.
Dark Elf Team Pitch & Dugout $47 / Dice $15 / Cards $27
As with most Blood Bowl teams, you’ll want to have the “home field” and now you’ll be able to get one for your Dark Elf teams. Not to mention some dice and rule cards as well!
Allocations For Games Workshop New Releases Take Another Hit
Overall it’s better than before, but still not great. With the battletomes at 10, we think most people will be able to get them, but it’s definitely on the slim side.
Basically, everything else for AoS will be capped at 10, so again, hopefully, people who want them will be able to get them. Then, all the accessories are 5 only, so they will be even harder to grab.
These aren’t the worst we’ve seen, but not the best either.
What do you think of these allocations from Games Workshop? Do you wish they had more of some items?
