1st Place: Michael Costello – Deathwatch

Michael went for a single battalion of Deathwatch led by a Captain, Librarian, and a Primaris Chaplain on Bike. These each provide unique support to the list. The captain provides rerolls to hits of one and has a Jump Pack which will allow him to swoop around with a large portion of the list to give out tons of rerolls.

The Librarian gains access to some unique Psychic powers, which are always fantastic additions to lists, and the Primaris Chaplain has some mobility and helps to keep important units healthy throughout the game.

The first troop is a 5 man Incursor squad which adds a few bodies to take advantage of those sweet reroll auras and take an objective when needed.

Next, there are 3 Proteus Kill Teams which all contain a mix of Veterans, Terminators, Bikers, and Vanguard Vets. Deathwatch’s freedom to manipulate the members in its troop choices gives them a ton of flexibility and utility.

For example, Bikers and Jump packs give a ton of mobility, while Terminators give access to Teleport homers to allow the squad to deep strike in.

The only elite is a Dreadnought with some great ranged options to provide just a touch of durable ranged support. Fast Attacks bring in 3 Inceptors with Plasma Exterminator, which are fantastic anti-armor ranged weapons.

Heavy Supports bring in 5 Hellblasters for extra anti-armor shots, and a whirlwind which brings in some more ranged support that’s pretty good at clearing chaff.

What do you think about all three of these most recent lists? Do you like seeing the Deathwatch do well?
