3rd Place: David McGeever – Grey Knights
2nd Place: Euan Bedford-Cooper – Chaos
1st Place: Nassim Fouchane – Adeptus Astartes
Nassim went for 2 detachments of Iron Hands Successors. The first is led by a Lieutenant, which provides wound rerolls of 1 to nearby units. Elites start off with 3 Company Vets bringing shields and melee weapons-making for cheap and reasonably dangerous melee threats.
While the Redemptor dread has a few versatile ranged options like the Gatling and Storm bolters for chaff and the Incinerator for armor.
Finishing Elites is a unit of Eliminators, which are great units to try to finish off damaged units or even harass characters. Closing out the first detachment are two means of transport, A drop pod, and a land speeder, which offer easy and fast ways to get a specific unit up the board exactly where they are needed.
The second detachment is led by a Techmarine, who can heal vehicles over the course of the game, which is a good hint that even more are coming further down the list. Jumping into Elites again, there are 3 more vets for melee threats and two Redemptor Dreads to serve as versatile and dense ranged support models.
Finishing Elites in the second detachment are 15 Jump pack melee-kit Vanguard Vets. These are extremely mobile thanks to the Jump packs and extremely durable thanks to the Storm Shields. Not to mention they all have melee weapons, making for absolute monsters in CQC.
Heavy Support sees the inclusion of 5 Devastators, which are included thanks to their good anti-armor weapon options. There are also 3 more Eliminators for extra character pressure. Finally, the list closes with a second land speeder for just a smidge of extra speed & scoring.
What do you think about all three of these most recent lists? Do you like seeing the “good guys” do well?
