GW Reveals New Underworlds, War Zone Octarius, & More Horus Heresy

harrowdeep-new-gwThe next season of Underworlds is coming next week along with more 40k releases, and even new Horus Heresy models and book reprints!

Games Workshop just let us in on all the new releases that are finally going up for pre-order this coming Saturday. From the looks of it, there is a wide variety of releases ranging from 40k to Horus Heresy and even Underworlds.

Now let’s look at next week’s line-up, starting with the new season of Underworlds box from Warhammer Community.

Warhammer Underworlds: Harrowdeep

Warhammer Underworlds Harrowdeep

The shadow realm of Ulgu is a murky place at the best of times, and it takes brave souls indeed to journey into the dark fastness beneath the Shadowsea in search of spoils and glory. Our favourite warbands are nonetheless ready to plunge into the terrifying labyrinth known only as Harrowdeep.

Exploring a maze inside the realm of shadow doesn’t sound too enjoyable to me, but that’s why heroes in a fantasy world do it and not us!

Warhammer Underworlds Harrowdeep stormcastXandire’s Truthseekers (above) are every bit the valiant chosen of Sigmar, while Da Kunnin’ Krew live up to their name with all manner of sneaky tricks.

Warhammer Underworlds Harrowdeep Orruks

On top of getting everything mentioned, you’ll also get a free set of acrylic objective tokens if you order it directly from GW’s website!

Warhammer 40,000 Sisters of Battle Comic Issue #2

It’s all going a bit pear-shaped in the second issue of the incredible Sisters of Battle comic written by Torunn Grønbekk and illustrated by Edgar Salazar, as Canoness Veridyan, Novitiate Ghita, and their squad battle to put down a heretical uprising on the planet Siscia that’s already spiralled right out of control.

The partnerships to make 40k comics seem to have all been pretty great so far, so hopefully, this one follows suit and is another one!

Warhammer 40,000 Sisters of Battle Comic Issue #2 (Exclusive cover)

As with the first issue, you can acquire a special edition with exclusive cover art at your local Warhammer store next Saturday, or order a copy directly from Games-Workshop.com.

War Zone Octarius Book 1: Rising Tide

We’re in the Octarius sector, where former Inquisitor Kryptmann’s meddling has brought Hive Fleet Leviathan right into the heart of a colossal Ork empire, where elite kill teams fight desperate missions to hold back the tide. What could possibly go wrong?

Find out how the Imperium is handling the sudden explosion of violence, grant your own Tyranids terrifying new synaptic abilities, and marshal the might of Cadia’s remaining regiments in War Zone Octarius Book 1: Rising Tide, available for pre-order on Saturday in hardback or a luxurious collector’s edition.

Clearly, there will be rules for Tyranids and Astra Militarum, but perhaps there will also be rules for Orks and the Inquisition as they are also mentioned!

Octarius Mission Pack: Containment

Octarius Mission Pack: Containment sees the return of deadly Planetstrike missions to Warhammer 40,000, where stoic defenders must look to the skies as their foes rain from the heavens across 21 new narrative play scenarios for Crusade campaigns

Crusade is a great narrative game mode, so it’s nice to see GW continue to provide updates in options for people who are passionate about it.

Warzone Octarius Dice

As with all major releases, there is a new set of dice to match the new Warzone Octarius.

Sons of Horus Legion Praetor

Leading the disciplined armies of the Warmaster into combat, Sons of Horus Praetors are exceptional commanders clad in gleaming artificer-wrought armour and wielding deadly weapons. They lead from the front, and command the unswerving loyalty of their Legionnaires in the name of Horus himself.

Some of the magic in playing Horus Heresy is all the unique chapter model sculpts, making each army completely distinct. This new Praetor adds to that for the Sons of Horus specifically!

Legion Mk IV Destroyer Squad

When war calls for grotesque weapons, Destroyer Squads shoulder the burden of dishonour. They count rad weapons, phosphex bombs, and even darker weaponry among their arsenal, and march to war in distinctive fire-blackened armour that most Legionnaires consider tainted at best.

These Destroyers wield devastating weapons, so expect to see they also do devastating damage and destroy their opposition if given the chance.

Book Three: Extermination (Softback)

Book Three: Extermination follows the aftermath of the Istvaan V Dropsite Massacre, as the Heresy sweeps outwards across Imperial space and the Emperor’s loyal Legions race to respond.

If you missed out on this book during its original release, this new softback is sure to be a little cheaper and lighter if you have to lug around a pile of books.

Book Seven: Inferno (Softback)

The Burning of Prospero reaches its apocalyptic climax in Book Seven: Inferno as the Space Wolves unleash their fury upon the Thousand Sons in a conflict that sees even the mighty Adeptus Custodes draw steel.

Of course, the same applies to book 7. If you missed it, now is your chance to get it and (probably) for a little cheaper too!

Verdia Veldt and Mordian Corpsegrass tufts

Whether you prefer your fields vibrant and full of life, or dry and scorched, these packs of ready-to-use grass are a hobbyist’s dream. Reformulated with even stickier backing to adhere to any surface you might need, the Verdia Veldt and Mordian Corpsegrass tufts can be cut, torn up, and easily applied in moments.

There are plenty of great tufts out on the market already, so it will be interesting to see what the GW brand brings to the table in terms of quality and value.
