The October London Open happened over the weekend with some pretty sweet 40k army lists finishing towards the top!
The tournament is over and now we’re able to look at which lists managed to secure a place at the top! Check out what these players brought in their armies.
Besides the Grey Knight list below, the other top lists were pretty much the same as we have been seeing for months. So we picked two other lists that also finished towards the top, and were a little bit more interesting to us.
Top Warhammer 40k Army Lists: The London Open

5th Place: Thomas Douch – Sisters of Battle
4th Place: Clement Tournade – Space Wolves
1st Place: Sid Sidhu – Grey Knights
Starting off, Sid’s Grey Knights have two detachments with the first being a patrol led by a Techmarine and a Grand Master in Nemesis Dreadknight. The Techmarine helps to heal up the important vehicles, which in the current meta of Grey Knights are the Dreadknights. The Grand Master serves as a great psyker with support for the list and can teleport in. He also comes with some hard-hitting melee and ranged weapons making him a beast in all-around combat and utility.
Troops add a couple of bodies with a 5 man Strike squad, nothing too fancy. With the Fast Attacks rounding out the patrol by adding 5 Interceptors for some mobility.
The second detachment has the bulk of the list in it and is led by Chaplain and a second Grand Master. Just like the first, the Grand Master is a beast is combat and has some helpful support, but the Chaplain helps by casting litanies every turn to squeeze out that extra value.
Troops again stick with a minimum Strike squad for extra bodies. While Elites keep the point cheap by bringing in 8 Servitors, who help to buff up the Techmarine from the first detachment. Fast Attacks bring in a total of 15 Interceptors to help pick off lone units and maybe even grab a far-off un-guarded objective.
The list closes with the new Iconic staple of three Dreadknights, which much like the Grandmaster are beasts in ranged and melee combat, however, they don’t get his extra goodies that come with being a more expensive HQ.
Pretty much every list sees this, but this list shook it up by getting in that extra Grandmaster for a functional total of 5 instead of 4!
