The Glasshammer GT #6 happened over the weekend with some pretty sweet 40k army lists towards the top!
The top overall players were a lot of the same stagnant meta that has hung over tournaments like the ghost of the Knight Castellan, so we’re featuring some of the more unique lists that placed high instead!
Top Warhammer 40k Army Lists: Glasshammer GT #6
Thanks to Best Coast Pairings we are able to look back at the event as if we were there ourselves.
If you wanted to see the names and factions of the overall winners, we’ve included that below.
However, we aren’t covering all those lists, instead, we will be looking at just a few of our favorite, but still strong lists!
7th Place: Dawid Szmyt – Knights Renegades
4th Place: Richard Bladon – Imperial Knights
3rd Place: Luke Richards – Chaos Space Marines
Luke went for two detachments of Chaos Space Marines, with the first being a Word Bearers battalion led by two Daemon Princes and a Dark Apostle. Daemons Princes may not be seen as often as they once were, but they are still great units, providing serious mobile melee threats and a goo re-roll aura if friendly units happen to be close enough. Dark Apostle on the other hand are great because they give the list access to Prayers for even more support abilities and effects.
Troops are relatively simple with a total of 50 Cultists for bodies and cheap objective holders.
Elites bring in 2 Greater Possessed which act like mini-daemon princes, hitting with similar power except they are a little less durable and mobile. Fast Attacks see the inclusion of 6 Chaos Spawn, which are decent models that can, once again, hit like a truck in melee if they make it into combat. Heavy Support brings in 3 Obliterators for some iconic ranged anti-armor shots that can delete entire units if high-rolled. Lastly there is a single Heldrake to help cull chaff and be a typical mobile threat in the sky that’s hard to deal with.
The second detachment is a single unit and it’s a Greater Brass Scorpion! The Scorpion is an expensive model and is packed with devastating weapons and statline to match. The only risk is if your opponent can effectively target it early without being punished, it’s a significant point investment that can ultimately get destroyed.
