Be ready for insanely painted models as the Golden Demon is back for the first time since 2019, with some new contest rules!
AdeptiCon will be hosting the first Golden Demon in a few years, so we expect all that extra time for painting will lead to some amazing paint jobs! Not only that, but they actually reworked the trophy for 2020 but never gave it out, so technically this year will also have a brand new trophy that no one else has. So if you want a truly unique prize, this year is the time to do it!

Golden Demon is Back For the First Time Since 2019!
The Golden Demon, Games Workshop’s miniatures painting competition, is one of the most prestigious and storied contests in the history of the hobby. And there was a time, not long ago, when this legendary competition had U.S. These events were mythic displays of hobby skill and painting talent. But then, alas, a time of darkness befell the New World and in 2014 the Golden Demon had left our shores and were lost…
But that which was unto us lost has been found. The Golden Demon is returning, after an unforeseen delay, to the U.S. and it is with great pride that AdeptiCon 2022 will play host to this fabled event. The partnership between Games Workshop and AdeptiCon will allow this prestigious competition to more than revive its former glory here in the states. But the competition will surely be tough, so there’s no time to waste! Get planning and painting on those projects- the world will be watching.

The Catagories
Warhammer Community announced all the categories along with some things to watch out for when entering!
If you’re planning to enter more than one category, you’ll need to fill out a form for each entry. Just bring your work along with a completed form and submit it at the event, making sure to read the terms and conditions carefully so there are no surprises.
New Trophy
They showed this off back in 2020, but obviously, things got in the way of the competition happening. so this year will be the first time to win the new trophy!

The coveted Golden Demon statue is one of the greatest achievements a hobbyist can aspire to, and the competition is fierce. Spectators can look forward to a showcase of the best that miniature painting has to offer, with three whole years of stockpiled entries gunning for the top spot.
If you’re here in the US, then this year marks almost TEN years since the last Golden Demon competition was held at the old Games Day events.
