GW Promises Harlequins 40k Rules NERF Next Week…

Episode 328 - Harlequins Are the Next OP Warhammer 40k ArmyAfter powerful tournament results, GW has already promised a NERF for the Harlequins or at least a stern talking to…

Ah, the cycle of life, a new army comes out, they perform above the other armies (surprised Pikachu face), then GW realizes the NERF hammer must come down. We saw this in person at a few big tournaments this year, and it looks like AdeptiCon had enough GW representation, and they saw the havoc the laughing space elves were causing all over the place.

In their recent Metawatch, GW basically comes out and says they are taking the NERF hammer to the Harlequins. We’ll have to wait and see exactly what they do, but it could be big. Let’s take a closer look at the possibility.

GW Promises Harlequins NERF Next Week…

Harlequins Nerf

So, what’s next for our favourite pantomime killers? Rest assured that the Warhammer Studio is aware that this particular comedy is at present slightly too divine. Several senior members of the Warhammer 40,000 team were at AdeptiCon to watch things unfold, and the next Balance Dataslate is coming with appropriate fixes next week.

You can therefore expect imminent tweaks and changes to the Harlequins in particular – they’ll remain an awesome faction, but other factions will find them more fun to play against, and Aeldari players will see them support a wider variety of army lists in competitive settings.

That’s not all you’ll find in the Balance Dataslate.

So, a pretty quick move from GW but that’s usually the case as of late, so nothing really surprising. Considering they really did perform super well, this shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone.

Zach Point won at AdpetiCon and actually, all of his opponents near the end were also playing, you guessed it, Harlequins!

We actually like the idea of NERFs when basically everyone is playing it, as it lets tournaments have at least some variety. We also talked about this on the podcast, so check out the video below when you have a minute! It also seems like we’ll have to wait ’till next week for the balance dataslate, but that’s not far off at all.

Do you like that they are NERFing them so quickly?
