Top Homebrew 40k Army List: Battle To End Alzheimers

40k-homebrew-army-listsAnother off-meta Warhammer 9th Edition 40k army list emerged in the Battle To End Alzheimers, check this one out!

9th Edition’s meta is again in flux, but some players are taking lists with units that nobody was expecting. Check out this awesome homebrew list that emerged in a tournament over the weekend. This just goes to show us that sometimes it’s more about the general’s skill than what you play.

However, we aren’t covering all those lists, instead, we will be looking at just one of our favorites this week.

Battle To End Alzheimers: Justin Adams – Chaos Space Marines 15th Place

new wal hor Chaos

Justin Adams 1Justin’s Chaos Space Marines are a two detachment approach with the first being a battalion of Iron Warriors led by a Chaos Lord, Master of Possession, and a Sorcerer in Terminators Armor. The Chaos Lord has a nice re-roll aura, while the Master and Sorcerer both bring psychic support to the table.

Troops bring in 30 Cultists for cheap bodies that can soak wounds or sit on objectives. Fast attacks bring in a drop pod for some bonus deployment flexibility and some potential wounds after it lands. Heavy Supports close out the first detachment with 6 Obliterators, which continue to be decent ranged options that can deal insane damage if the rolls are good enough.

The second detachment is a patrol of Death Guard led by Typhus, who is a fantastic melee lord in his own right with great abilities and durability. Troops have 15 Poxwalkers,  who go great with Typhus to help soak a few wounds. Elites bring in 5 Blightlord Terminators, who are great in melee and extremely durable threats. There is also a Tallyman for some minor support and cheap investment.

Heavy Support closes out the list with two Plagueburst Crawlers for some bonus wounds all game long thanks to their great weapons and very long range.
